COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Traditional IPA is a hophead’s dream. The distinct sharpness of British hops and moderate alchohol are balanced by a dry, malty profile and crisp flavor. The result is a brew as smooth as a sunset paddle on the glassy waters of Lac Du Bay. Seasonal March - October.

Dark amber color, way too dark for an IPA. Smell of hops, malt, caramel, citrus and cotton candy. Taste of caramel, cotton candy, malt, hops, citrus and some salt.

Not a bad ipa. Only real complaint is that it has a little too much malt for an ipa. The beginning starts off too sweet with not enough hoppiness. Other than that it’s a solid IPA by an otherwise excellent brewery/

(Bottle) Pours a copper color with a small white head. Aroma is pretty weak. It seemed a bit dusty. Taste is pretty good. A good and balanced hop profile in here. Some citrus and alcohol in the aftertaste. A good IPA. I would like to try another bottle to see if it is better.

A slightly dulling yet bright orange color. Solid firm froth of tannish, orangey tinted foam. Keeps a decent amount always present and laces the glass in rings of shelf-like sheeting. Aroma is fruity and then some, dull and mild of peach, berries, red apple, and a slight toasted grassyness is evident. Flavors are a steady pace of dullish, pale, semi-fruity, toffeeish malts bringing a slimming toasted layer along with it underneath as a nice play of darker dried grasses plays the hoppy snare to the malty bass. Uniquely bittered with orangey/grapefruity, leafy toastedness sits well from just past midway and into the finish. Floats of lightly with lots of interest with notes to spicy grasses. Actually, this is fairly complexing with alot of little things going on here and there. An interesting flavor chorus sings mildly on the palate with this one. Feel is about medium, perhaps a smigeon under, with a floating fluffy texture and easy going carbonation. Creatively smooth with just enough little hoppy bite and feathery bitterness to bring in a nice English-styled balance. One smooth drinker. Quite sessionable within the realm of IPA’s in the 7% ABV average. Could have a few of these without much hassle; ’til they catch up to ya. Gone before I knew it and will enjoy more. It’s definately not the bigger hop grabbers that most Westcoaster’s are, but it’ll do just fine with its lovely fruity/toasty/hoppy balance.

Mahogony pour thick tan head well laced. Aroma has a full odd hoppy aroma some hop flowers... very nice w/ a good amount of malty sweetness. Palate is well coated and lightly creamy. Flavor is a very traditional english IPA. Nicely bitter w/ a good amount of grass and a dry pine finish but w/ enough citrus and carmel to balance it out. This is darn good.

Pours a clear copper orange with a big, foamy light tan head with leaves a good covering of lace as it subsides. Aroma has some sweet toasty caramel malty notes and a touch of English hops. Body starts with more sweet toasty crystal maltiness revealing more piny hoppy bitterness before a lslightly warming finish. Could use some more aroma hops for an IPA, but still pretty good.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2006 Good but unusual for IPA. Copper color. Lemon, peachy, tea, cofee? Slushy mouth feel. Spicy but smooth. I’ve not tried enough product to know but CW is shaping up as my favorite Wisconsin brewer.

Pours a cloudy amber with a white head. Smells of lemons, grass, yogurt, peaches. Tastes peppery with some coffee tinges, a bit nutty. Unusual for an IPA but good.

Bottle. Aroma is floral and has some earth tones to it. Darker amber body with off white head that left some lacing. Flavor was citrusy with some good blend the malt for a full body. Good smooth sipping beer on the palate.

12oz bottle- An aroma of caramel malts and hops on an amber beer with an off white head that turned into a thin lacing quickly. Taste of hops with some malt. Nice tasting.
