2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12oz bottle, no date--it should be noted that my label says 7.2% ABV--not that it matters. Pours a clear copper brown with a one finger beige head. Aroma of cereal grain, a little dry dog food, citrus hops, some toast. Flavor is bitter toffee, dog food, moderate bitterness with the same aforementioned citrus. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Dunno if I had the same beer as these other people, because I did not enjoy this one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle
Caught me off guard when I first sniffed what came out of my glass. There were caramel, banana and fruity scents. The body was a deep amber color with light carbonation and a one-finger head. After admiring it for two minutes, the first sip gave away its IPA heritage. In addition to caramel, there was a piney hop taste and slight bitterness. The aftertaste was more bitter with an expresso like finish. Very different than any other IPA I have had and very enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Aroma is floral and has some earth tones to it. Darker amber body with off white head that left some lacing. Flavor was citrusy with some good blend the malt for a full body. Good smooth sipping beer on the palate.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2007 Hazy Amber Coloring. Small Head. Mild Citrus Aroma. Hops and Roasts Hit you Immediately on the Tongue. Not Very Balanced.
Rerated Winter of ’07. I was Amazed They Had This on Tap, as it Obviously Had Issues...Very Stale/Sour Bitter Beer Notes...Similiar to Leaving a Beer Out in the Sun for an hour or two and Trying Again.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Mahogony pour thick tan head well laced. Aroma has a full odd hoppy aroma some hop flowers... very nice w/ a good amount of malty sweetness. Palate is well coated and lightly creamy. Flavor is a very traditional english IPA. Nicely bitter w/ a good amount of grass and a dry pine finish but w/ enough citrus and carmel to balance it out. This is darn good.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Burnished peach with suspended particles. Thick, lacey patterns on the glass. Orange pulp, dark honey, and cakey malts in the aroma. Mild pine, earthy hop, and phenolic undertones. Malts are on the mushy side. Soft and creamy on the tongue. Very tight carbonation. Sweet malts are greeted by an interplay of soft citrus and stinging pine resin. Snappy orange zest continually rides underneath the earthy maltiness and bolsters the bitterness. Leafy hops negate some malt sweetness and reinforce the piney hop bitterness. Notes of brown sugared malt brace the piney finish as soft notes of orange pulp and hop resins lurk beneath. I’m guessing this to be around four months old since the hop profile is starting to deteriorate. But sadly, the bottling date wasn’t notched. Overall, this could benefit from more dry-hopping and also more focus on the pine and less citrus. With more hop sting than flavor, this is still a rather well-made IPA .

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from my friend Brian. Pours a very dark murky amber with a thick off white head with yellow hues. Aroma of floral and citrus hops with some toffee malts. Medium bodied with a dry texture and lots of maltiness. Initial flavor of toffee and caramel (british like) that transitions to a moderate bitterness, that brings out some subtle sweet citrus. Finish is slightly earthy with a tea like bitterness. Not a bad IPA if you like a little extra malt.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: bright, rubyish red color, with a full, thick, bubbling head.
Aroma: nicely hoppy,a bunch of fruit in the nose, cherries, berries, melons, apples, more...a wonderful melange
Taste: yummy, bright, very tasty, but a little too sickly sweet at times. delicious, but not devastatingly so. A nice little IPA, but not about to take a swing at Dreadnaught or Rogue I2PA...a tasty little beverage, but rather ordinary...mmm, I enjoyed it, though...

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2006 3/26/06 Re-rate: Draught at brewpub Fall ’05. Sweet, dark fruity aroma with hops. Amber in color with no visible carbonation. Sheet lace. Off-white head. Bitter, sweet flavor. Very zingy and carbonated and a little cloying. An upgrade from when I had it at the Great Taste. 9/6/04: 2004 GTM. Faint aroma, fruity with some hops. Murky, thick, dark amber. Off-white head. Wasn’t overly impressed with the flavor. Ar 6, Ap 4, Fl 6, Pal 3, Ov 12
