3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Opaque dark brown, with slightly oily head. Aroma of malts, molasses, and burnt. Strong smoky/peaty flavor. very earthy. Palate is a bit more harsh/alcoholic than perhaps is preferable, it’d be nice if it were a bit smoother. Well crafted and enjoyable.

Dark red/crimson with a filmy head with abundant lacing and a high amount of carbonation and good lacing. Nose is strong roasted barley/malts and chocolate with some floral hops. Flavor has some surprisingly strong hoppiness along with some coffee, roasted barley and chocolate flavors. Body is fairly heavy with some moderate carbonation. Pretty good!

Thanks to my sister in law for bringing this back from WI for me. Deep brown pour with a thick sticky tan head. The aroma is lovely - soft sweet milk chocolate with a nice earthy/herbal hop flavour. Fairly earthy cocoa and soft roast flavour along with a longer bitter finish. Really tasty pint actually. A bit of soft sticky malt sweetness on the finish

Bottle from BrookFalls Discount. Pours a murky brown with an off-white head, almost no lacing. Aroma has cocoa, caramel and slightly burnt malts. Taste is of sweet caramel, bakers chocolate, roasted malts and a vague vegetal-ness. Medium bodied. More sweetly sticky than anything else. Finishes a bit short and sweetly bitter. Perhaps a bit of an old bottle?
