3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20 after4ever (4500) - Brier, USA - MAY 29, 2009
12-oz. Pours Jet black with a dense, creamy dark tan head that falls away quickly to a light rim. Bright rubied highlights in the corners. Decent stringy lace. Big coffee nose, almost a bit acidic. Roasty bits there as well, along with some chocolate. Creamy medium body, a little bit watery. Chocolate, lots of coffee, and roast on the mid-palate. Long bitter coffee finish. Not sure why I am the only one getting the coffee...hope this wasn’t a QA thing that is fooling me into thinking it’s coffee.
3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 arkotramathorn (22) - Eau Claire, USA - MAY 29, 2012
Really strong aromas of chocolate, and coffee. Very chocolatey with coffee and toasted bread. Finishes sweet coffee with barely any bitter. Very enjoyable beer.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Scipio (185) - Vernon Hills, Illinois, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Pours a very dark brown with a tan head. Nice aroma that is a bit unusual for a porter. Heavier in nuts and bread, with chocolate taking being a lesser note. Taste is alright, while I do think it is a more watery. Most noticeable is a nutty chocolate taste. Some breadiness. Nutty, resiny aftertaste that is not exactly pleasant. More medium in body and oily. If anything, this one is more boring than bad.

Dark beer with mahogany highlights and a thin tan head that shrank to an attractive slick. Light dusty grain and chocolate nose. Flavors of roasted grain, sweetened coffee and some chocolate. Long bitter finish of bitter coffee and something green. Very hoppy porter.

This one was part of the Binny’s build your own 6er. I looked at the label before drinking, and saw it was now over a year old. It poured dark burgandy with a quickly disappearing white head. Malt was still roasty with a touch of chocolate and a biscuit/bread combo. Hops were sprucelike and gave it a slight peppermint effect. OK for being a year old.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 PhillyCraft (603) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 23, 2012
Bottle with Pat, pours a dark brown color, off white small head with very good lacing. Aromas of hershey, cherries, and other fruit. Taste is roasty, filled with chocolate, maybe some metaliic notes in the middle. Good body and mouthfeel that was easy to drink for a porter, stayed cold for awhile.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 nearbeer (2656) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - APR 1, 2012
12 oz. Aromas of cocoa and coffee. Taste is cocoa, graham cracker and a touch of char and piquant green herb on the finish. Light-medium carbonation; medium bodied with a slight wateriness that makes it an easy drinker.

12oz bottle. Rating #250. Dark brown pour with a light tan head. Light sweet chocolate aroma with a bit of roast. Light roasty bitterness with a little more sweet chocolate. Nice stuff. (2274)

12oz bottle oddly not rated until now. Deep what looks to be unfiltered burgundy-brown. Thin, steady, creamy white head. Smooth, mellow chocolate aroma. Full and official, a really nice chocolate edged Porter. Middle of the road, but true to style, really well balanced. Thick specialty malt tones, on the lighter side of full-bodied. Solid offering.

Pours deep brown with a medium tan head. Aroma smells like tootsie rolls. Flavor has a bit of roastiness and an odd metallic/shellfish type flavor with chalky chocolate towards the end. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is roasty but blandly chalky.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 KajII (462) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - MAR 4, 2012
Bottle. The pour was a seriously dark murky brown with an average sized (1-2 finger) light brown rocky head that lasted a good long while, reducing to a few foamy puddles and a large collar which produced some excellent streaky lacing.
The aroma was mild of a roasted chocolate malt, a light resin hop and a mild leathery yeast with hints of chocolate and coffee.
The taste was lightly sweet with a creamy chocolate note at first then became nice and malty with a big dose of coffee and a mild hoppy finish. The flavor hung around for just a little while with a nice bold hoppy coffee ending.
Mouthfeel was medium in body and had a mildly dry texture and a soft carbonation.
Overall a bold and roasty brew with a nice blending of hops, which worked very well with the dark Porter flavor.
