3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 nickd717 (3394) - San Francisco, California, USA - DEC 31, 201012oz bottle from Al’s of Hampden. Dark brown in color with a one finger light tan head. The aroma is nice, roasty and chocolatey with slight notes of anise. The flavor is simple, traditional, and good. Roasted and caramel malts, anise, chocolate, and some hop bitterness. Medium-bodied and smooth on the mouthfeel. A good porter but not quite as impressive as others made it out to be.
2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 Tortman18 (79) - Batavia, Illinois, USA - MAY 11, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 12, 2013 Very cloudy brown. Looks like apple cider. Small creamy head with a lot of lacing. Aroma is malt and spice with a slight nutty hint. A Very weird lake/fishy aroma. Not pleasent at all. Mouth is strange. Very bitter/earthy with a chocolate finish. Not a pleasing beer at all. I definitely want to try this again, in hopes this batch I had was bad.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 fidemaster (216) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Dark Murky beer. Has a coffee like aroma. The taste was a lot like a hoppy coffee. I found that to be a strange combination. I want to say it was like a minty coffee. It was interesting but not really my favorite.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 5000 (4967) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Bottle:   Deep cola, moderate to large frothy sandy head, nice lacing.   Soft chocolate like roasty nose.   Mild roastiness on the tongue, low hop, moderate maltiness.   Not your average PNW Porter, but thats okay.
Happy that its not overly hoppy.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Soft chocolate roastiness lingers.   Pretty solid, nothing out of the ordinary tho.

Hazy brown with a small brown head. Aroma is on the malty side with mostly chocolate coming through. Some notes of coffee and alcohol. Flavor is slightly acidic and overall fainter than the nose - roast, chocolate.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 ICEatALAMO (532) - Troy, Michigan, USA - APR 12, 2013
Nitro draft. As with nitros the pour is thick. The aroma is more hops than malt unlike I would expect. The taste is a little bland for a porter. A very average beer.

Chocolate licorice nose. Really smooth taste of more chocolate and some coffee. Really easy drinking. Pretty well done for sure
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Dragonfly1 (400) - - MAR 23, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2013 Bottle. Pours a muddy black. Aroma is licorice and French roast coffee. Slight whiff of smoke too. Taste has more smoke right away, with dry bitter chocolate covered espresso beans dominating. Would have thought for a porter there would be a sweeter balance to this. Tiring on the palate.

Amazing beer - might be my favorite porter of all-time. Wish that it was available "on nitro" at more pubs.
