Thanks to Kan for this. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of coffee chocolate malt, and brown sugar. Malt sweet flavors with brown sugar, alcohol, and red fruit. Finishes with bourbony red fruit. Boozy but decent. 7/4/8//3/15

Draft at Brickhouse BBQ (Madison, WI). Pours a pitchblack pour with a frothy greyish head dies to a tiny film that laces small. Some ruby edges peek out. Aromas are coffee grounds and roasty malts, toffee, a light floral bitter hopping. A touch of coffee cake sweetness. Initial is roasty coffee, roasty malts, a touch of roasted barley meshes with sweeter and dark cocoa, sweet caramel, toffee, a touch of molasses. Light bitterness towards the finish with lasting cocoa and coffee grinds. Caramel and toffee sweetness evident, a touch of acrid coffee and bitterness. Quite palatable and balanced for a bigger beer, heavy coffee, sweeter malts and roasty. Nice

Bottle. Very distinct vanilla aroma. Clear very dark brown colour, red shine. Small stable light brown head. The flavour starts off with a good coffee note. Quickly turns quite sweet with lots of vanilla and a good dose of alcohol. Then comes a roasted coffee aftertaste along with a good alcohol burn, like single malt whiskey. Sweet and vulgar, but I like it.

another bottle off my want list from dak on 3/8/10. oddly thin pour... more of a typical porter color with a thin tan head. vegetal aroma... huge smell of dried chili peppers, earthy guajillos, mild coffee, roast, cocoa, butter, wood and vanilla. the flavor is the same with more bourbon and its spiciness coming in than the aroma. the aftertaste is a big coffee monster... finally! thin and crisp for the style. 7/3/7/3/13/3.3

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Deep opaque brown body, thin to medium beige ring of carbonation. Potent nose with burnt caramel, roasted malt, coffee, bourbon, and oak with detectable alcohol. Strong body with potent bourbon and oak complementing coffee, caramel, brown sugar, and licorice. Good balance among bitter, sweet, and alcohol components. Heavy palate. Too much burnt caramel and brown sugar for an imperial stout, but not bad.

reddish black body. tiny, minimal wispy head. lighter body than expected. aroma of heavily roasted malt, stale coffee, caramel and sugar. flavor begins with a chocolate and nutty coffee base. sugary, smoky finish. interesting for an imperial stout. more of a coffee based porter or lighter stout..

Thin tan head thats short lived though there is some spotty lace hangin around. Almost black in color with a nice bit of ruby red edging. Nose is soft, ashy, bourbony, lightly smokey and chocolatey, pronounced coffee aromas, nice roastiness. Med/full body, nice oilyness, soft carbonation, silky. Well gathered flavors, vanilla, roast, coffee and whisky thats just right. Light chocolatey notes creeping in, hint of wood and aspirin, faint licorice notes as well. Put together pretty well i,d say. Finish is surprisingly dry and roasty, lasting, clean. An enjoyable brew indeed. Props to my friend Kymbierlee and whats his name,,,umm,,,ummm,,, oh yeah,,, MOTORTODDHEAD, WTF! for the bottle i received in our last trade. Good folks! Thanks guys yall rock!!!!
