3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
#2400! Bottle. #52 Rating. Stout # 402! Pours a dark brune body with a thin tan head. Fresh roasted dark roast coffee aroma with hints of lush bourbon and light oak, but the coffee consumes the fragrance of this brew. A lush coffee with hints of rum and wood, ash and hints of vanilla. Aroma> Flavor. Oh well one can hope when he sees a coffee stout in a bourbon barrel, when its his favorite style.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
50th rating of this brew. 12oz recently bonused but the name is gone from my head. Pours brownish red with a tan head. Nose is sweet with some nice coffee notes. Taste is sweet with coffee and a touch of bourbon. decent, albeit strangley hot impy.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep dark brown beer. Aroma is lightly roasty with a touch of soft herbal character. There is some light booziness initially. I donít really get a whole lot of bourbon out of it, just a light spiciness. Herbal coffee flavour up front. Nice flavour with a soft cocoa and a touch of lingering roastiness. Itís pretty solid really.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Daknole to celebrate my 2K :)
Deep coffee colored, almost opaque, the color of a light-bodied espresso with a scant thin tan head. Aroma is full-on coffee and mocha cake icing, enhanced by vanilla and light bourbon. The palate is quaffable and dare I say a little thin. Sublime coffee character really comes out when the smash of bourbon comes in at the end. One of the more unique coffee beers I have had, with lots of nuances due to the sweet distinct vanilla and bourbon flavors but I would have preferred more roast to coffee/vanilla ratio.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown colour. Thick head. Rich coffee nose with dark choclate. Fairly heavy with both vanilla bean and coffee bean. Sweetish in the finish veers this towards vanilla latte territory and thatís not going to work for me. The underlying quality of the ingredients and production is evident but the profile of the beer is simply not to my taste.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pour is deep brown with a dark tan yead. Aroma is of strong coffee, somewhat sweet malt, and light chocolate. Coffee was well balanced with the malt in the flavor finishing nicely with a medium toasted oak and light bourbon. The mouth-feel was a little light but still enjoyable.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thank you Colin (GeneralGao) for the 12 oz bottle. Clear dark brown with a 1 1/2 finger beige head, good retention. Wonderful aroma of cold coffee and clean roasted malts, and sweet brown sugar, some vanilla and dry oak. A little bakerís chocolate is also present. Flavor is much the same with a little more heat from the alcohol than I wouldíve thought for an 8% beer--then again, I am drinking this warmer than cellar temp. Just a little brown sugar sweetness peaks in. The barrel influence is more than subtle, but far from overpowering. Dry finish with bitterness peaking around a 3. Medium full body with soft, light carbonation. Damn fine BA impy--not overly complex, but I see no flaws, and what is there is great!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a deep blackish brown color with an off white foamy head. Flavor is roasted malt, black malt, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, "city" roast coffee. Medium bodied, finishes with earthen/oak/bourbon dry notes and a bit of alcohol. Finish is warming. Pretty solid brew here, not overly heavy like so many imperial stouts out there. Would definitely buy again.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a very deep opaque dark black/brown with incredibly thick tan-colored head. Aroma is light on coffee notes but faint undertones of brown sugar and alcohol notes. The scent of toffee is present but the sugar aromas arenít overwhelming. Flavor is roasted malts, dark chocolate and medium roast coffee. Very smooth. Body is creamy with medium carbonation. Enjoyable.
