Bottle. Pours black with a ring of beige head. Aroma is mostly roasted malts and coffee. Flavor is strong coffee, malts with a touch of bourbon. Wish there was more bourbon.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Scipio (502) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - FEB 21, 2013
Pours black with a thin darker tan head. Aroma has a good amount of whiskey that is noticed right away. I find coffee, vanilla, a little bit of chocolate, and some cinnamon. The taste is rich and strong. Whiskey, more chocolate, some lesser vanilla impressions. Its a little bit sweet also. Medium in body with a thick, oily texture. Aftertaste is a long lasting liquor along with vanilla. Overall, this is an excellent stout. It will help quite a bit if you enjoy liquor. But even if you don’t, this is something that you shouldn’t pass up.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 savnac (2126) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - FEB 21, 2013
12oz bottle, 2012. Pours brown with a small light tan head. Aroma of coffee mostly with some chocolate, vinegar and light vanilla. Flavor is sour vinegar, acidic coffee and some cocoa. Medium body with a thin, watery mouth feel. Had this once before and it was good, this one was infected for sure.
4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 rxeight (483) - Illinois, USA - FEB 20, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 28, 2013 Black pour, minimal head. Aroma is amazing. This smells like a world class coffee bourbon stout. Bourbon Coffee balanced perfectly. Taste is a watered down bourbon coffee stout. Thinner than most others but I guess average body for an 8% stout. Basically KBS with a thinner body. Price wise this is hard to beat. If aldi sold Bourbon County Coffee this would be it.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 brian60625 (639) - Illinois, USA - FEB 19, 2013
12 ounce bottle shared. Aroma was big, dark chocolate. Appearance was opaque black with a tan head, surprisingly little lacing. Taste was a wholehearted and pleasant mix of bourbon, coffee, and most of all, chocolate, nearly a hershey’s syrup cocktail. Palate was heavy and thick with a low amount of carbonation. Definitely a dessert beer. Overall, this one is delicious and well worth trying out in a mix six rotation.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 pcstuck (27) - Illinois, USA - FEB 17, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2013 Appearance is black with a thinner head. Aroma is boozy, mixed with coffee and dark chocolate. Taste matched the aroma. Booze up front mixed with the coffee, smooth not very heavy. This seemed to pack more of a punch then the listed 8% ABV. Very good, and hopefully will be able to find some more.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Bacterial (467) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - FEB 17, 2013
I need to buy more of this now. Dark, but not obsidian black, pour. Very fine off-white head. Bourbon and coffee in the nose. Well balanced stout with just enough coffee that comes through, mingling with the bourbon in the aftertaste. This is not over the top, but sometimes you want a beer that just works together and this one really delivers!

Poured a deep brown with a light beige head and minimal lacing. Aroma was of coffee and malts. Taste was similar - roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, alcohol, moderate hop finish. Mouthfeel was very rich. Overall, a strong coffee stout that packs a whollup.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 timc100 (314) - Park Ridge, Illinois, USA - FEB 15, 2013
A: Pours a clear dark brown. Sits a darker, murky brown with a mahogany/ruby tinge and beige cream head.
S: Evolves well with warmth. Bourbon - vanilla, oak, slightly boozy - fresh medium roast coffee, rich chocolate, some nice subtle spices - hazelnut and cinnamon.
T: Not as complex as the nose - fresh coffee, chocolate, vanilla and cream. Slight splenda-esque sweetness
P: Medium, creamy
O: Just really nice. A great BA breakfast stout. Coffee is not dominating, but very fresh and noticeable. To me, a step up from the regular BA stout
