Reviewed from notes: Poured from a 12oz bottle into a CBS snifter. A. Pours a dark black color, mocha colored foam, light head that rests at a bubbly ring, nice lacing as it is sipped. S. Smells of sweet bourbon, chocolate, vanilla and oak. T. Tastes of oak, nice smooth bourbon, coffee, dark chocolate, and toffee. M. Medium-heavy body, medium carbonation, coarse and dry feeling. O. A very good beer. Very complex, with lots of flavors. A nice smooth non-hot beer for how fresh it is. A year or two on this and it could be truly amazing.

"a phenomenal beer, assuming you are a coffee lover. if not steer clear. coffee is strong enough to cut through the bourbon in the aroma and flavor. big time in the flavor. almost too much, but i love it. deeeelicious."

Bottle. Pours dark black, medium brown head, some lacing. Aroma is a wonderful blend of mocha and bourbon, vanilla, and oak. Flavor is not quite there, a bit sour and acidic, light sweet and light bitter. Medium light body.

Countbeer (4709) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - AUG 16, 2014
Bottle: Thanks jdb288: Served in a Chouffe glass: Lively brown head on top of a deep dark brown to black colored beer. Aromas of wood, some some bourbon, roast, coffee, vinous notes, wet wood, light bay leaf, light coal, light ash, some prunes and fruity wood. Flavours of bitters, coffee, spice, some berries, bourbon/whiskey note, wood, raisin, some toast but more roast, light tart, some berries, some malt roast and sweet coal. Aftertaste is coffee, bitter, faint whiskey and wood note, light tart, some roast and berries. Low carbo, creamy to watery mouthfeel, medium to fuller bodied and a light watery tart texture. Difficult beer, probably has a slight infection, as the tart and berry tones are slightly present. Decent beer.

Pours dark chocolate brown with thin tan head. The nose is coffee grounds, vanilla, cocoa. The taste is coffee, chocolate, oaky vanilla, light bourbon. Medium body. Not as much of the barrel as I like but still decent. 3.8

2013 bottle as an extra in trade. Pours black with a one finger dark khaki head. Aroma of chocolate, some coffee, vanilla oak, bourbon. Flavor is bourbon heavy though not boozy, barely any coffee, light chocolate, nice vanilla finish. Bit of a Jack and Coke flavor going on here, supplemented by the lack of body. Body is on the thin side with medium carbonation. Overall a nice flavor but seems to need a good bit more body. Doesn't seem like this one is infected so that's good! Not bad but I don't think I'll seek this one out again.

Coffee and bourbon on the nose, this pours out black like oil. Coffee, roasted malt, cocoa, and bit of vanilla on the palate. Really complex.

Bottle to glass. Pitch black coffee pour with a nice creamy khaki head. Nose is coffee, vanilla, milk chocolate. Taste is a great base of bitter sweet roasted malt, chocolate, and huge coffee with a Bourbon ghost finish. Notes of vanilla float around too. I don’t think this one was affected by the infection, or it’s still too early on.
