COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This smooth, creamy stout and a crackling fireplace are the perfect answer to a wintry evening in Wisconsin. The rich coffee flavor compliments the "warm, fuzzy feeling" you get from the abundant alcohol. Formerly a winter seasonal, named Satin Solstice.

Slick black pour with a 1 finger, creamy to soapy tan head, that has great retention and leaves decent lacing. Aroma of big grainy roast, nutty notes, toast, caramel, a little toffee and hints of chocolate and light roast coffee. Flavor is again, big on grain roast up front, toasted oats, then some roasted nuts, a little campfire char, smoky dark chocolate, earthy grain, nice light roast coffee notes and a light minerality that crisps it up for the finish. Medium body, creamy, slightly goopy (oats, maybe?) entry, leading to a cream, slightly chalky middle, light to medium carbonation and off dry, sort of floury, chalky finish. Really tasty stuff overall, I really like the nice, grainy flavors, leading into the expanded roasty notes. Quite a nice depth for a 7.5% Impy Stout

12oz bottle pours a murky black with some cloudy, off white head. Nose has creamy sweet oats, malt, molasses, brown sugar, some distinct yeast, some black pepper. Flavor has sweet oats, brown sugar, caramel, molasses, pencil lead, a little chocolate cake. Full bodied finish.

12 oz bottle poured into a snifter..dark with a thin tan head..aroma of coffee,roasted nuts,malts..dry,malty..not an imperial stout..the name is definitely misleading..underwhelming.

Bottle, shared around the table at Revolution Brewpub. Dark brown with amber highlights. Chocolate, ashy roast, thinnish body, bitter finish. Weíve had a lot of great beers tonight, and this didnít really stand up. Simplistic and thin for an impy stout.

iím goin a little against the grain here - i was prepared for a light sissy version of an irs, though all the CW darkees iíve had so far have been great. i was surprised that the beer looked brown as it poured (but closer to black in the glass) and the feel was a little thin for the style, but just a little. the flavor and aroma were huge, and fitting of an irs. lots going on...licorice, bitter coffee, malted milk chocolate, heavily roasted malts and dark fruit. warming despite the lower abv for the style. not elite like some of their others, but quite good. thanks yet again John. underrated on this site."

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate, soy sauce, hints of anise, and some roasted malts. The beer is not too heavy or too extreme, and it is not likely an imperial stout either, seeing as the alcohol is a mere 7.5%. That said, it is a nice bittersweet beer with a pleasant body and excellent balance.

Burnt brown with a reddish tint. ONe finger off white/kaki head. Light lace. Sweet aromas of chocolate, sweet breadyness, dark fruit, molasses, vanilla, cookie, some herbal/earthy. Smooth, chocolate, med roast, more roast in end, herbal/ pine bitter, dark chocolate, pine. Malty caramel. Semi sweet. More roasty than rich/smooth but pretty good.
