COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This smooth, creamy stout and a crackling fireplace are the perfect answer to a wintry evening in Wisconsin. The rich coffee flavor compliments the "warm, fuzzy feeling" you get from the abundant alcohol. Seasonal Nov. - April.

Picked up a six pack from Binny’s. Pouts near black with dark tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts, and some caramel. Flavors of roasted malts, chocolate, bit of caramel, and some hop bitterness. Finishes dry and with a little sweetness. Damn tasty stout..

It is nice to see brewers making imperial stouts that aren’t ridiculous hundred-ingredient concoctions w/ a million percent alcohol and all that nonsense. The style was originally more like this strengthwise--albeit most likely w/ a very different flavor profile. Satin Solstice pours black w/ a short live head of large bubbles. It is a rich chocolate and coffee accented beer w/ prickly carbonation and a somewhat velvety texture. I think by today’s standards, you might call this a sweet stout rather than an imperial but it is most definitely a good, complex and drinkable beer either way.

355mL thanks to blutt59. Thanks to Matt and Griffin for opening this bottle at 3:50 AM to have a beer with their hastily made drunk food that made a mess of my kitchen. Awakened by the racket, I discovered this beer had been used partially to make a "sauce" for their pasta. Stealing the rest of the bottle for myself, I was determined to get a tick out of it.

Poured a deep cola color with a weak tan head. Not much retention/lace. Nose is heavy metallic already- volatile compounds moving to some huge salty brine and green olive. Taste up front is quite metallic and clovey/medicinal with heavy soil, dirt, earth. Heavy metals. Small oil on the palate. Not a fan.

Old ass motherfuckers... Interesting light salty off sour nose. SMells somewhat boozy. Light earth, roast, lightly sweet. Sour flavors up front with big bitterness in the finsih. Fruity and bitter, dry finish with some alcoholic heat. Real odd. Dark brown pour with a thin head. Softly carbonated, cant get over the off sour notes. What.

Aged a few bottles for a year or so. Nice blend of roasted malts. The " satin" on the label is representative of the mouthfeel, somewhat velvety. Excellent of it’s style.Lack a bit of depth and personality to put it in with elite versions of this style but very much what one would expect. I drank this somewhat as a session beer so my only complaint might be that it is a little thin.

Black with scant head / Light nose of roast barley and coffee / /Medium body, spritzy, a touch watery for an imperial, with fair finish / Simple flavors of dark roast coffee and caramel / Lacks the body and depth of an imperial.

Bottle. Pours brown/black with a thin brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and caramel. Flavor was smooth silky dark chocolate, dark roasted malts and subtle caramel with a dry and roasty finish.

Bottle from O’Reilly’s in Madison. Pours thick black body, little retained head after beige foam dissapears. Thick creamy buffeted mouthfeel, with chocolate and coffee. Dryish. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate.Good drinkability. Seems higher than the abv stated.

(12oz bottle) clear medium deep brown, soapy tan edge bubbles. Nose of coffee, Graham cracker, milk chocolate, creamy and rich. Taste is a little watery compared to the nose, coffee, bit of herbs, alcohol, and cream. Medium to light body, creamy linger and some coffee bitterness. Not bad.
