I really like this beer, it was far better than I expected, really nice smooth taste, not as bitter as other beers I’ve tried.

4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle pour, opaque near-black with nice caramel head, decent lacing. Aroma of intense chocolate, sweet roasted malts. Smooth taste with mild hop bitterness off-setting strong malt base. Boozy finish, taste does not linger. An excellent imperial stout, especially for the dark cold winters of Minnesota!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled in January (9 months old).
Appearance: The body is pitch black with visible sediment at the bottom of the bottle that was unavoidable in getting a little in my glass. It looks like proteins, not yeast. The head is short and tan, settling into foamy ring. I love how this looks, the sediment is what stops this from being a 5.
Aroma: The aroma is a mix of dark fruit, syrupy chocolate, and roasted malts, backed by a slightly earthy and smokey presence. I wish it were a bit more bold, but it smells nice.
Taste: The taste matches the aroma perfectly, mildly fruity, mildly chocolate, mild roast, and mild smokiness. Nothing jumps out, but chocolate and fig is most prominent on the finish. Good beer, semi-sweet with a quick finish.
Palate: Medium bodied, a tad syrupy, light carbonation.
Overall: This is a very nice stout, but I feel it may have fallen off. I would like to try this fresh as I feel the roasted and chocolate presences would be more prominent and more to my liking.
