crowderm (154), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA May 9, 2008 Pours a very dark brown/mahogany. The aroma has some nice chocolate, burnt malt notes. The flavor features a lot of coffee, with some solid dark chocolate and roasted malt backing. Solid mouthfeel, but nothing outstanding. A very tasty beer.

Black bubbly pour with a decent creamy tan head. Smell is big soy sauce and nutmeg and some vanilla. Flavor is sweet, tart and not right. There is something seemingly wrong with this one. Bad bubbly palate that has that cheek clenching aspect to it. redlem (1096), Illinois, USA Jul 3, 2008 Well I could tell by pouring this that it was thin as I could see right through the pour. A minor deduction in a regular stout but a major one in a so called Imperial Stout. Typical roasted, bitter aroma and taste. It is smooth tasting but there is no viscosity to this beer. The alcohol comes out at the end as a burning sensation. A weak example. CaryTheDude (114), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Jul 3, 2008 Reminds me of the never judge a book by it’s cover cliche. Comes in practically a brown paper bag six pack. Only complaint: a little watery. I want an Imperial Stout to be consistency of, roughly, motor oil. doubleo (670), San Diego, California, USA Jul 1, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a tiny, offwhite head, specks of lace. Smells roasty and toasty malty with a hint of coffee and some choclate sweetness. Tastes more sweet than it smells. Sweet dark fruits and roasted maltiness. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and roasty. Medium/ful body, nice carbonation. notalush (1971), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Jun 24, 2008 Dark brown, cola-looking beer - quite a roasty aroma, with touches of brown sugar, caramel, and dark fruit - medium-bodied (light for an imperial) - quite roasty, with strong coffee and tobacco bitterness - toffee sweetness arrives later, with some fruity notes - a lot of burnt sugar and caramel popcorn in the finish - a little spicy alcohol in the finish - more like an imperial porter, but a fairly tasty one
