pretty decent stout but not much a big fan of the heat in the throat. Pretty tasty though. I would like to have my stout with pepper flavors and no heat. Its not hot my any means but it not everyone’s cup of tea. still try it if it was on tap or something.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pretty amazing how the essence of the hottest peppers on earth shines through, yet this same essence does not consequently blow my brains out in either initial flavor or aftertaste.... very impressed with the subtle balancing act here. Only had one other chili stout so far and this one beats it. The Ghost with The Most!

Bomber from a group of chitl neckbeards. Poured pitch black medium to thicker body with a small mocha head. Aroma of syrupy dark chocolate, vanilla extract, ash, burnt toast, burnt toast. Nice body, thicker mouthfeel, syrupy with softer carbonation and pepper heat on the end. Flavor is nice, dark chocolate, lots of burnt notes, green pepper, dark fruit, olives. Nice beer.

I will always thinkn of pepper beers as novelty items though surely some people like them. At the tasting I organized there were some people who liked this. The pepper comes out much more in the flavor than the aroma, and it is clearly spicy. But I liked the base Imperial stout more than I thought I would. It wasn’t as crassly ash-laden as some other raters have hinted. Beautiful, dark, rich... and spicy. Polarizing but a quality beer from a quality brewer. Bottle.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, Boise imperial stout tasting. Pours a dark brown and capped with a small tan head. The nose is mostly roast, some smoke, and light hints of spice. A little more spice comes through in the taste, but the heat is scaled back quite a bit from other pepper beers of late. Nice roast, but the smoke gets dangerously similar to an ashtray.

Bottle. Pours black with a creamy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a decent amount of peppers with a bit of roasted malts with a touch of coffee and some creamy dark grains. Flavor starts with dark grains and creamy chocolate with some bitter chocolate and growing heat from the peppers.
