2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Grovlam (4137) - Copenhagen, - FEB 13, 2007Bottle. Head was creamy like with a off-white colour that was quickly goon. Slight lacing in glass. Colour was dark brown. Aroma was heavy malt with notes of berries, roasted malt, butter, brown sugar and caramel. No hops to detected in nose or mouth. Light to medium bodied with a slightly sticky texture and a flat carbonation. Heavy sweet with not bitterness to balanced it. Overly sweet finish. Like Theis says, it reminds me of the Danish style called “Hvidtøl”.

Bottle. A dark brown beverage with a ruby touch, topped by a small, beige head. Malty-sweet nose with toffee, molasses, some dried fruits and hints of red wine. Too sweet on the palate, quite sticky and full-bodied with flavors of dark sugars, molassess, prunes and dried dades. Long sweet finish with some dried fruits and molasses. Maybe a touch of bitterness in the far back. It probably has it’s use, but I can’t see what it is. Still, it’s a flavorful one, but almost sickingly sweet. (081213)
