bottle from el corte ingles, lisbon, but it’s a quite common bottle in supermarkets in portugal. Light coffee/barley aroma. Equilibrated in bitterness and carbonation. Small head. Some colorants. Enjoyable but not that rich.

33cl bottle. Black beer with light brown head that quickly diminishes. Toasted malts aroma, coffee. Flavour is sweet dark, coffee and metallic, with a final also sweet and a little bit watery. Carbonation is soft. Body is light to medium.

Bottled (thanks to mom & dad). Deep rubyish coppery colour, small foamy head that leaves some lace. Aroma is caramel malts, some mild toasted notes as well as mild wood and herbs. Flavour is caramel malts, mild burnt wood, some slight sweetness and some nuttyness. A bit watery, otherwise nice.

330ml bottle - I think from biegaman. Very attractive clear, bright, refractive ruby-amber with a large fluffy/foamy beige head, even nice lace drape remnants (4-). Mild roast carmel, light dry leafy/herbal bitterness, no alcohol - maybe a bit of paper. Taste - same - very mild, background roasty sweetness, nicely balanced by dry grassy/herbal bitterness ... a lot like a very, very mild old ale without the alcohol. Soft, light mouthfeel, mild carbonation, and quick-finishing - not bad, a little weak, but it was easy to finish, and it’s not exactly a spring chicken of a bottle.

Clear mahogany with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and rye bread. Flavour was sweet with roasted malt, caramel, rye bread and dark fruits. Finished sweet.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a golden deep amber glare and a huge tan head. Aroma is roasted breadish and light toffee caramelish. Breadish malt flavoured, bitter and sweet. Toffee and liqourice. Lasting roasted impression into the finish.

American Dark Lager?! WTF??Handsome, well-conditioned beer; deep ruby with heaped cappuccino tufting the glass. Sweet rusty aroma with nutty, vegetal and caramel undertones. Flavour burnt cardboard with slight watery Bovril dabs, chocolate, caramel. Empty and thinly toasted like an n/a beer, not enough roast to be schwarz or stout, Iberian dunkel needs its own category. It’s just the glucose syrup holding it together; no character beyond the looks and body, but still likeable enough by the end of it. Poor man’s Sagres Preta.

Bottle -- Gorgeous big beige head that quickly recedes but leaves ample lacing. Intensely dark red. Subtle roasted malt aroma with some sweetness. The flavour has lots of coffee wth a chocolatey finish -- it sort of crept up on me and took me by surprise. Palate is fairly watery, which for me detracts from the other interesting things going on in the aroma and flavour. Not a bad drop but a bit "thin" on every level.
