"Super Bock Stout is a black beer, produced from special malts which give it a distinct flavour and aroma, and a long-lasting creamy head. It differs from the other black beers on the market because it is richer in extract, more full-bodied and with a more complex (almost fruity), not-so-roasted taste and aroma."

Bottle from local Liquor Mountain. Lots of yeast and some coffee notes in nose. Dark, opaque, toast-brown head (caramel coloring is added). Syrupy-sweet mild coffee initial; mid is a slightly richer version of initial; final is much the same. Medium-heavy body. Rather mild and sweet; too fizzy for the style. Not really bad, but far from really good. Better than their other beers. Like a fair-to-middlin’ homebrew.

Bottled from supermarket in Albufeira, Portugal. Black appearance, small brown head. Malty nose, caramel, roasted, some liquorice. Very sweet flavor, lots of liquorice, some malts. Little bit bitter in finish. Seems like the Portugese equivalent of Dutch ’oud bruin’. I like it, though it seems closer to a sweet stout than a dunkel.

Smaczne karmelowo-słodowe ciemne piwo. Mylnie nazwane Stout bo to raczej schwarzbier.

Test vom 30.8.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,4,3,3,9,3 - 4,05

Thanks AirForceHops for dragging these back all of the way from Portugal!!!! Enjoyed in a Hill Farmstead Glass (Sorry Shaun). Poured a dark amber to brown beer with a 2 finger tan head that faded slowly to a finger. Nice lacing. Peanuts, almonds, cream and some german wheat. Hints of sugar. This would be a good BBQ beer. Creamy nut brown ale with some german wheat and yeast. Very light body and it’s unmemorable.

Pours filtered black with brown frothy head. Very little scent. Taste is sweet stout and tastes artificial and weak. Hint of roasted malts but sweetners take over. Very low hops and slight bitterness but again caramel takes over. About the only dark beer I managed to find in Portugal on holiday. Did prefer this over most of the other beers. Very small variety available though.
