2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Almost totally black with a short lived frothy brown head. Aroma is sweet and a little malty. Taste is sweet and roasty with a slight bitter finish. Not bad but it’s probably a stretch calling it a stout probably more a Dunkel. Overall not bad but lacks character.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The brand is "Bock" and the genre is "Stout", but ultimately, it is a Dunkel. Oh my... Anyway... Not bad at all once you give up looking features of a stout and start appreciating it as a dunkel. Poured from a longneck bottle into a tulip. Good head formation and retention, with very fine beige bubbles. Smell is roasty and caramel sweet, with a hint of fruitiness. Very drinkable and fluid. The hoppiness expected from a stout just isn’t there. But all in all, it’s a well-balanced brew. Excellent for dinner.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark colour with a beige head that lasts nicely through the glass. The roasted malt flavour you’d expect from a stout is there, but is quite light, leaving it feel slightly watery. Hints of vanilla and caramel with a slightly annoying fruity twang in the aftertaste. Not great by the standards of a stout.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
(Bottle at Chris & Ruth, thanks) If there were bock stouts they would perhaps taste like this. Taste and aroma contained all usual bock flavours. The looks and the abv were from stout. Not a bad brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 2 years ago.
Black, very dark red against the light. High and brown head.
A lot of "dark", roasty notes in the aroma, smells just like a Baltic porter.
Quite full, very "dark" in taste, but not as roasty as a stout should be.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Poured just shy of black, nose was roasty and nutty, tasted thin and limp, but very drinkable for the style

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
super bock sampled 6/5/10 on a portugese binge...
nearly black colored brown with a tannish head and spotty foam.
there is a slightly burnt smell along with molasses, roast, caramel and coffee-like nuttiness.
the flavor is the same with a light bitterness on the finish. not nearly as sweet as the aroma lead me to believe.
the light-medium body with lively carbonation. 6/4/6/3/12/3.1

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Old BA rate - Thanks to Beertruck for the generosity and the opportunity to try this brew!) Pours with a half-finger of light to medium head; pretty dark brown, nearing on black in color; ruby highlights around the edgesEver so light roasted malts; dark fruit aromas; did I catch some spice in that? for the aroma. Lightly roasted; some sweetish maltiness; a little bready. Thinner MF; a little slick, and some bubbly carbonation. Not bad drinking, really. Definitely not a stout, but not terrible

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
A dark brown almost black colored beer with a thick beige head. The aroma of some coffee with some burned malts. The taste has hints of chocolate with coffee. It’s a little bitter but it moves to sweet. The aftertaste is mostly sweet.

Fruity slight roast aroma. Beige head. Dark coloured smooth and a little sweet on the palate with a hint of dryness in a lasting roast finish.
