COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Ingredients: Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate malt; Sugar; Colour -E150C; Hops.
Launched in 2003.
"Super Bock Stout is a black beer, produced from special malts which give it a distinct flavour and aroma, and a long-lasting creamy head. It differs from the other black beers on the market because it is richer in extract, more full-bodied and with a more complex (almost fruity), not-so-roasted taste and aroma."

Bottle. Pours nice dark with a deep red edge. A small fizzy beige head. Sweet aroma with a roasted edge and a feel of wet dog. Low carbonation. Flavour is surprisingly fruity with a light roasted edge - quite dry bitter at the end. Round but a touch thin.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2007 Jan, 2007330ml bottle from BeersOfEurope. A pasteurised black lager with tingly, but not assertive fizz. Taste and mouthfeel are fairly flat, more of caramel flavouring than of decent malts, but there’s some cheap, buttery chocolate notes and a touch now and again of bitter chocolate. All in all though it tastes of what it clearly is - a cheap lager with colouring and a touch of dark malts. There’s an initial flavour of dark things, but it fades quickly, there’s a hint of red berry fruit, a metallic, watery swoop, and the thing is gone like a cheap lager. I think the regular pale Super Bock has more character and a more pleasant taste than this. But it’s fairly drinkable. [2.3]
August, 2007 330ml bottle from a Portuguese shop in Ladbroke Grove. Nice aroma of chocolate, though there’s glue and warm vegetable spread as well. Creamy milk stout type mouth feel. It’s a pleasant caramel flavoured beer, with a finish like a cheap smudged lager. This could easy pass for an ale - make it slightly sweeter and it could pass for a milk stout. Drinkable, but lacking in character. [2.4]

"Super Bock Porter" it said on the bottle I had. Deep dark colour with a nice light brownish creamy head. Aroma is sweet with roasted malts and chocolate. Flavour of roasted maltiness, sweet caramel, chocolate and some coffee. Rather thin for a stout (porter).

The aroma was weak, but somewhat nutty. The color was a dark brown with a nice creay brown head. The flavors were very mild, hints of chocolate and coffee. The mouthfeel was very light. This is pretty unusual for a stout, but it made for a much more refreshing stout.

Pours with a big thick creamy foamy head that last for a while; some lace. Nice dark almost opaque redish brown. Nose was cocoa, roasty, caramel, toffee. Flavor and palate are sweet/milk stout, but quite thin. Short finish. Brought this home from LIsbon this summer.
