3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Great looking pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is dark chocolate and coffee, the flavour is again loaded with chocolate and coffee. Overall a nice smooth stout.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Black color; poor head. Some caramel aroma, more like a Dunkel. Also tastes like a typical Dunkel (forget the Stout!), with some caramel, roasted malt, residual sweetness, low bitterness. Poor.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled (BB 10/2005)
Dark ruby, almost opaque color. Small coffee head. Aroma is toffee-sweet with some chocolate. Medium-bodied, chocolaty sweet, slightly roasted. Mouthfeel good be fuller. So far, the best Portuguese beer I’ve had.

Bottled, drunk on location in Los Lobos, The Algarve, Portugal. </br>
Opal black, with fizzy brown head. Lots of gas, more like larger then a straight stout, similar but darker then Toohey’s Old for those who know it. Roasted malt aroma with gaseous qualities.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light chocolat aroma. Dark redish brown color, light brown head, very nice lace. Sweet, light bitter to bitter in the end, roasted, coffee, smooth. Not a stout like I like them in winter (strong, full, heavily flavored) but a very nice one to drink even in summer.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottled. Very dark brown with small brownish head. Sweet and bold, somewhat metallic. Mellow with notes of coffee. raw and industrial, but a hint of soft chocolatey malts is a redeeming feature.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Very dark amber coloured beer with a small creamy head. Light sour, roasted aroma. Weak roasted taste with a hint of sourness. Light bitter finish. Both this one and the super bock are quite ok.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
I didn't find this to be a good stout - a little too commercial overall. Clay-like, artificial nose. Deep dark brown color and large bubbles. Hints of chocolate - maybe tobacco. Very quick profile and thinish. Refreshing in a hot climate (.pt) with some character. Otherwise average.

I really loved this beer - it was the one we drunk every day in that week when we came home from the beach, showered and rested on the patio watching the seagulls flying over the ocean. Nice malt and chocolate nose. Black/opaque color, little hazelnut brown head. Wonderful intense long lasting, thick cocolate and malt taste. Round and well balanced. To bad it's sister the Super Bock Blondie is more known - it deserves better!
