Ungstrup (11353), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 8, 2005 A dark red-brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet and rather dusty. The flavor is very sweet wtih strong notes of caramel, but also licorice, leading to a dry roasted and bitter end. Thanks to Kim for dragging this back from Portugal and to Jacob for sharing. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 27, 2004 Bottled. Very dark brown with small brownish head. Sweet and bold, somewhat metallic. Mellow with notes of coffee. raw and industrial, but a hint of soft chocolatey malts is a redeeming feature. Papsoe (10285), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 7, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) pours a clear, dark brown - close to black - with a reddish hue. Creamy, light brown head. Vague aroma of roasted malt. Medium-bodied, roasted maltiness with an edge of chocolate and a vague tartness lingering underneath. No real bitterness. But overall rather light, lacking some character - almost closer to a Dunkel. 070706 yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Apr 15, 2007 Pours black with light brown head. Aroma is hard roasted malt.
