2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dense black, tan sponge finger of a head. More grilled toast than roasted nose. Initial taste continues this, like a burnt bit of Naan bread soaked in dark malt. No real refreshment but not overpowering you with flavour from all corners. Mid-range of slight tang, some fruit. Finish dry, but not fully roasted. Smooth prune vibe going on, little cream coming through from the head.
Thank feck this was on tap at the festival, alongside the traditional Super Bock, for the same price. Worth the extra walk for a tap pouring it. Quenching enough when adjusted to and also sat well in a plastic pint glass in your hand for twice as long as the regular, quickly flattened effort. A wee place in my heart for this.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(20 cl bottle imported from Madeira) Pours dark brown with little tan head that recedes quickly leaving rings along the sides of the glass. Aroma is roasted malty with a touch of noble hops. Oily texture, medium body, soft carbonation and a slightly sweet finish. Flavour is balanced with an ascerbic edge. Decent but nothing special.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle from BeersOfEurope website (£1.39):
Dark malts with some brown sugar and a sweetness & caramel. Roasted barley, coffee & dark malts follow with chocolate.
Dark, opaque brown with a thin head that is tan coloured and bubbly.
Sweet and there is the sugar and some of the roasted malts from the nose. There is a little liquorice and some chocolate but again not a lot and it is rounded of with some roasted malts.
Sweet, medium in body with a bland and watered down feel somewhere around the middle. It’s not all bad though, the beer was easy to drink and is quite smooth too.
Started really well but whilst still drinkable, the taste didn’t fully back up the look or the smell of the beer. Mainly roasted malts, sweetness and some chocolate but it was a smooth and easy to drink offering so I won’t complain too much.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
A creamy but at the same time not so heavy beer. A dark beer for the not so cold days of the portuguese winter.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Draft in Portugal, pours dark black with a thin white head, aroma is malty, taste was sour and malty. Could have been a dirty line or old keg I suppose but this was pretty nasty stuff.

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Di stout ha ben poco, solo il colore, per il resto è una brodaglia insipida; in ogni caso, molto meglio della sua sorella pale lager
