Bottle; Pasteurised.
Ingredients: Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate malt; Sugar; Colour -E150C; Hops.
Launched in 2003.
"Super Bock Stout is a black beer, produced from special malts which give it a distinct flavour and aroma, and a long-lasting creamy head. It differs from the other black beers on the market because it is richer in extract, more full-bodied and with a more complex (almost fruity), not-so-roasted taste and aroma."

Pours a black colour with just a little bit of brown head. A slightly sweet smell, although not particularly strong. The taste has initial notes of coffee followed by some bitter, slightly sour notes and then a sweet, malty aftertaste. It’s not particularly full of flavour, considering the style, but it’s still quite pleasant. I could definitely drink it all night.

As one could expect, it has absolutely nothing in common with stout beers. Howver, albeit watery, its definitely an enjoyable dunkel with cool roasted notes and coffee-like, creamy finsh. Nice surprise in Portugal.

Very charming dark beer with a nice roasted malt and caramel flavour. Might have more of this.

A creamy but at the same time not so heavy beer. A dark beer for the not so cold days of the portuguese winter.

In Portugal and fed up of lager I decided to give this a whirl. Not a stout in any way shape or form, a black lager. Which is fine. Who wants to drink Guinness when it’s 30 degrees in the shade anyway?! A bit of burnt coffee, a bit of sweetness, not much else. Thin but still refreshing enough to be enjoyed in the roasting weather. An enjoyable alternative to the ubiquitous lagers of the algarve.

33cl greenish- brown bottle at Cidade de Goa’s Taverna lounge. Pours an opaque dark brown with lasting fine-bubble head. Slight molasses aroma with hint of vanilla. Light- to- medium body. Low carbonation. Even dry/sweet dark malt flavor balance. Dry finish. Hint of roasted character . An OK hot weather drink with stout-like character.
