Awesome hop smell, like top pisleners. Very lightweight with slightly bitter finish. Refreshing drink during hot Portugese autumn.

It’s a quite usual lager, a little more carbonated than the normal super bock. Also less corn, but still... not that interesting.

3fourths (6403) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 8, 2011
UPDATED: AUG 28, 2011 draft. effervescent clear gold. twangy nose presents soft but just pungent hop aroma. clean and bright flavor, zesty but has a plastic oiliness, leaving film on the tongue and palate. honestly it could pass as a pilsner. it’s crisp and has just enough hop vibrancy to work. doesn’t have any apparent adjunct aromas or flavors. simple, yes, but also bright and clean.

200ml bottle, consumed on 29 November 2010. Best before 31 August 2011. Pale gold colour. Like the Cerveja Cristal sampled immediately before, this was a surprisingly clean and drinkable lager. Not a lot else to say but no obviously "off" flavours or heavy adjunct character. Pleasant enough. Why the Portuguese like to put these quaffing lagers into such tiny bottles is something of a mystery to me.

Bottle from Funchal, Madeira. Pale yellow color, small white head, some lace. Skunky and strong corn aroma. Medium-bodied. Quite straightforward sweet corn malty flavor with low bitterness. Light vegetably notes too. Harmless, not far from regular Super Bock’s taste.

Bottled. A pale golden beer with a huge white head. The aroma has notes of cardboard and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, cardboard, and a bit of malt, leading to a lightly bitter finish. The body is thin. Thanks yespr for sharing.
