UPDATED: MAY 31, 2008 The aroma is sweet and malty with a hint of grass. The appearance is pale gold with a thin head and low carbonation. The flavor is like the aroma and not that good. The palate is thin. This beer amounts to bitter sweet nothing.

E-frickin’-normous whate head on top of a clear coppery body. Very sweet toffee aroma, and a bit of a brown sugar or molassess flavor. This was a bit tastier than I thought it would be.

Bottle. A pale golden beer with a vanishing white head. Neutral and sweetish aroma, hints of malts and hayish hops.Taste is clean but weak and bland, without any distinct flavors. A thin-bodied and unexciting macrolager.

Bottle that is 14 months past date. Deep breath. Exhale. Here goes nothing. Pretty raunchy aroma-- metallic, old wet dishrag. Offputting petroleum chemical undertone to a corny sweet featureless pale lager. Very bad.

Bottle. Pale yellow color with a small thin white head. Aroma is moderate malty, and light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a short to average duration. Very light body, not very good.

This beer clearly isn’t very good. The Portugese can’t cook - their food is rubbish. They can’t make wine - I hate rose. They may be good at football - though they do like a div, but this does not make this beer good. I drank it when in Lisbon and, as they say, when in Lisbon... Anyway, it’s pretty strong, but has a horrible sickly, syrupy taste. In short, shit!

I know it’s cool to hate Spanish and Portuguese beers, and usually I do. This got so many extra style points for its appearance, though. Maybe the best looking lager I’ve ever seen. Crystal clear, golden, with a huge foamy head that left good lacing. More surprisingly, its carbonation released a small stream of bubbles forever, like a great champagne. Otherwise nothing great. Sweet malts, floral hops. Thin.

Bottle: Rusty and very flat. Tastes like rotten water, stale, thin and aweful.

Bouteille.
