1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
The things we do to up our country count. Wish I could have found Sagres, but this will have to do for Portugal. Lightish yellow color, fizzy head that disappeared. Smelled like an American Standard, blech. At first taste, I could sense a touch of sweetness, a bit of alcohol, almost like a long distance echo of a bock. Like an echo off a satellite dish kind of distance. In any case, that rapidly went away as it warmed, replaced by faint bitterness and a little bit of boring lager flavors. Portugal seems to be better at fortified wines than beers.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Straw hue with a small fizzy head and fair lace. Mild aroma with hints of grain, toasted malts, grass, floral hops, light soapy and vegetable esters. The taste was grainy and grassy, boring stuff. Mildly bitter this light-bodied beer. Nothing super or bock about this beer, how corny...blah,blah,blah

There are obviously very lax laws in Portugal regarding misleading descriptions of goods. This is not a bock and certainly not super!
I tried it so as to add Portugal to my countries list-what a sacrifice.Bland and boring is perhaps an overstatement.A nothing beer with nothing to offer.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
This has been in my closet way enough time! Clear yellow body, highly effervescent, moderately generous white head, but fully diminishing. A little anemic on the aroma side, grainy sweet. The taste is rather bland while malty, no depth, metallic bitter aftertaste.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is clear light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), with a note of alcohol. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Much worse than expected...husky and alcoholic and little else to comment on.

Bottle. Surprised me for what it is. Poured clear golden-yellow with a moderate white head which quickly diminished. Full malty aroma. Flavor is unbalanced, lots of malt and lacking hoppiness, but not bad for a Portugese(!?!) lager. Light body and moderate carbonation.
