1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20
33cl can. Pours pale golden, with thick creamy head, that stays for some 30 seconds. Malty aroma, beautiful lacing, creamy and surprisingly full body for a lager. Taste is rather weak: iron bitterness and sugar.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
500 ml can bought at Monte Gourmet’s booth at HKCEC in Wan Chai during Hong Kong Food Festival 2013.
Piss pale golden yellow colour; One quarter finger head and soapy white foam which fades in 20 seconds; Minimal lacing with active carbonation; Pungent smell of malt, with very strong grains, corn, bread, medicine, lemon and smelly grass; Close to light sweet taste of thin malt, with strong grains, faint wet cardboard, shades of light syrup, bread, light lemon and light grass; Close to light body, thin and slightly slick palate; Mouth feel is a slightly richer macro Pale. Despite the strong grains, there’s only a slight shades of sugar, basically not sweet. Paper taste is also very light. Adequate breadyness, and hops is stronger than most Pales. Not bad… Hopiness is moderate lemon and grass in nose and taste, Bitterness is fairly low but still stronger than most Pales for a low bitter semi finish; Slightly dry after taste. Fairly easy to mouth.
Comments: This is a typical macro Pale but with some good characters to show for. Smelly nose and strong grains asides, it has a relatively richer body, a bit more malts, almost sweet-free, good breadyness and hops. For a cheap beer being randomly picked up at a local food fair, I was fearling the worst so I am genuinely to be surprised. Drinkable.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle at Mr Hangover’s 2014 Nieuwjaarsborrel, Den Haag. Poured a clear light amber with a bubbly round head. The aroma is stale malt and yeast. The flavour is medium to weak bitter with a warty malt palate. What were they thinking of when they brewed this!
