Corn, metal, and fizz--oh and perhaps some beer ingredients, a touch of hops and some malt. Drinkable and even a bit refreshing when cold, this is nonetheless a distinctly forgettable pilsner-style pale lager [perhaps another category is called for]! $8.99/6 pack

First a little history: Columbia is a country known for its cocaine exports and a fictional man named Juan Valdez. Less well known is the fact that they also make beer. Aguila is one of these beers and immediately upon tasting it, you will come to understand why you have not heard of it before. With its creamy white head atop a straw golden colored liquid, it is an attractive brew but the attractiveness ends w/appearances. The aroma is of the faintly hoppy skunky variety preferred by people who learned about beer from billboard advertisements and television commercials but are snobbish about it none the less. The flavor is not at all devoid of character--here is some bready malt character and the sweetness is balanced by a mild hop character--but overall this is a rather light beer even for the style. Aside from the skunk in the nose and maybe a very slight metallic twinge, this is a very clean and easy drinking beer. It is, of course, also utterly forgettable but at least it isn’t painful to drink.

I paid 75 cents for a 12 ounce bottle at Three Cellars in Franklin, Wisconsin. Average pour of light yellow w/white head. Sweet, sugar cookie aroma. Light consistency but not watered down. Strange, rotting vegetable flavor. No hops or malt. Bad aftertaste. Smells good, though.

Bottle. Pours a very pale golden body with a thing white fizzy head quickly dissipating to a thin stream of bubble. Hardly any aroma, some light vegetative corny notes, and a mild grain note. Flavor is remote with a mild bread y grain accent and a short mildly bitter finish. This beer should state the calories to boast sales. Poor.
