Barena has a thick, white head and a very clear golden-yellow appearance, with high carbonation. Lots of lacing is present down the glass. Aroma is very much of bread, which I suppose is due to the barley; I was unable to pick up any other smells. The taste is a good, bread flavor, and the adjunct does not come through, so they’ve done a nice job of covering it up. There is a slight hop spice at the back end. Mouth-feel is medium, and Barena finishes crisp and wetter than American lagers. I liked it, and I was happy that the sample, poured from a clear glass bottle, was not skunked. RJT

a bit floral and with a perfume like herb infusion. bit of caramel type sweetness in corn. watery, then yeasty with flavors and a touch of fizz at the end nice enough trick from a decent brewer.
