2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 davidpl (435) - Santiago, - SEP 2, 2007
Appearance: very dark brown color. Little head, dark beige color, some persistent.
Aroma: toasty grains, sweet from caramels malts, sweet chocolate, toffee, vanilla, cinnamon and soft aniseed touch. Liquory, fruitiness of berries and figs.
Flavor: not very intensive toasty for the style; sweet start with caramels malts, sweet chocolate, milk, toffee and vanilla touches. Final with more potent toasty and soft hoppy. Smoked aftertaste. Fruity reminiscences of berries, figs and nuts.
Palate: light to medium body, semi-oily texture. Low carbonation.
Toasty and body some light for the style. However, nice chilean porter.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 KingGambrinus (117) - Santiago, CHILE - AUG 16, 2008
Has a deep pitch black colour with a nice and creamy beige head, very persistent. Aroma of milk chocolate, coffee, and toasted malt. Sweet malty flavor with notes of coffee and some smokey characters. Well balanced bitterness, thick and smooth texture, but lacks body, even if it’s not watery at all. Anyway, it’s a nice Chilean micro.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 almosi (281) - Viña del Mar, CHILE - AUG 16, 2007
Has a black color, very equal. The head is small, with few foam and has a decent cord. The aroma is very good, roasted coffee and something of chocolate. The flavor is sweet, with presence of chocolate, mocha and coffee. The final is malty, but too sweetly. The body is average, probably a bit watery. In general it is a good beer. Of the best porter of Chilean microbreweries.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lilith (242) - Santiago, CHILE - DEC 16, 2006
Medium off-white head, pitch black body. Aroma is smockey, hints of coffee, chocolate, some wood. Flavor is sweet a bit roasted. Too watery and too timid for a porter, weak.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Panzerfaust (509) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - NOV 10, 2006
Pours a pitch black color. Head is medium-sized and tan coloured. It’s mostly diminishing but leaves a good lacing and a thin film.
Aroma is malty with a toasted and woody character. Notes of chocolate, coffee, wet wood and oak. Some hints of soy sauce too. Unfortunately it’s a little difuse and watered down, I don’t know why.
Flavor has caramel malt sweetness with some toasty, coffee-ish notes. Semi-bitter chocolate, truffles and oaky touches. But despite all that it’s rather shy and unexciting.
Medium body, high carbonation. Finish is good, chalky and leaves a smokey aftertaste. Texture is a little watery though. Decent chilean porter.
