KingGambrinus (88), Santiago, Chile Jul 28, 2008 Has a clear dark orange colour (strangely not hazy) with a medium frothy white head. Aroma of malt, apple, banana, honey, cinnamon, cereals, and some yeast. Flavor is bittersweet, light, malty, of honey and cinnamon. Low to medium carbonation. I expected more body, but the tasty malt/fruity flavor is good enough. bluevegie (1732), Perth, Australia Jun 23, 2008 Bottle tried at Sicosis. Fairly clear body for a hefe-weizen. Honey coloured body, good carbonation and fairly good head retention. Cloves on the aroma, smooth taste but a bit of a let down from what the nose promised. Panzerfaust (375), Santiago, Chile Mar 8, 2008 Pours a clear dark brilliant orange. Head is big, white, frothy and everlasting. Beautiful.... but clear. Not a Hefeweizen but a Kristallweizen.
Aroma is malty/yeasty with notes of cereal, banana, wheat, vanilla, milk and an interesting touch of grassy hops.
Flavor has a little of everything. Fruity, sweet-ish with good amounts of hoppy bitterness. It has some apples, grass and touches of vanilla, banana and grapes. Nice.
Light bodied, low carbonation. No alcoholic presence. Medium finish. A decent Weizen, simple and well-done, maybe the best wheat beer from Chile. almosi (279), Viņa del Mar, Chile Feb 22, 2008 Has a color dark brown, mahogany and reddish. The head is dense and very lasting. The aroma is to cereals, with a bit of vanilla and banana. The flavor is sweet enough, and incredibly it knows to banana. There is something of bitterness and a very subtle touch of malty, but it is earthy. It leaves an aftertaste that first is sweet and then almost astringent. The body is dense enough, but not since it should be a weizen. It is a slight beer, with a touch of masses and banana. Better than many(very) other beers of microbreweries of Chile. davidpl (397), Santiago, Chile Jan 21, 2008 Appearance: mahogany color. Great head, dense, beige and lasting.
Aroma: caramel malts and slight wheats smells. Toffee, vanilla, butter, ripe-fruits, chocolate and hops-floral aromatic reminiscences.
Flavor: sweet start and light toast from malts, as well, the wheaty touch. Sweet-spicy touch like cinnamon, clove and ginger. Fruits reminiscences similar to bananas and dried-plums. Light hoppy final; toasty and wheaty aftertaste.
Palate: light to medium body and silky texture. Medium carbonated.
Slightly unbalanced, but with innovative touch for Chile.
