COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Costa Ricans have been enjoying this beer since 1924. Imperial is created from a balanced formula combining malts, grains and hops, without a pronounced overtone in its taste. It is what is known as a “centralized” beer. Adapted to a warm and spring-like climate, Imperial is Florida’s most popular and widely accepted beer, both nationally and internationally, and has thus become the favorite beer of Costa Rica.

Pours a light yellow with a foamy white head and light to medium carbonation. Aromas of grain, corn, and grass. Flavors of grain, slight grass, slight corn, and just the faintest hint of caramel. Leaves a light aftertaste of grain. Crisp. Lightly sweet.

Light malty aroma with light spicy hops. In a bottle from a restaurant. Note great but respect.

Bottled, 0.35l. Clear pale golden color with thin frothy white head and average visible carbonation. Aroma of grassy hops, hay and mild malt. Taste starts with mild malt and followed by light citrus notes. Mouthfeel is dry, while aftertaste is very mildly bitter with spicy undertones. Light body, thin texture and average carbonation in palate. Nothing much imperial at it, just a thirst killer...

Bottle. Skunky aromas with some malt. Light yellow color with a white head. Weak structure and flavors are muted by this watered down brew.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the new Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks troubles. Pours clear, pale golden, fizzy with white head. Lemonish, lagery-hop aroma, quite bitter and minty in a way. Smooth texture, light body. OK for what it is.

(Bottle) Clear pale amber with no head. Aroma has citrus, vegetables and som skunkiness. Light bodied and fizzy. Flavour has some initial refreshing citrus notes, but s followed by grain / cereal and hints of something industrial like rubber. Overall it’s not good, but it is drinkable.

Best by 30 Sept 2013 on bottle; even so, a moderately skunked nose, but still with touches of grassy hops and cereal malts. Appearance is gold with sticky white head. Flavor starts out semi-sweet with a little less skunk, maybe a touch of toast, and a fairly dry finish with still a bit of lingering sweetness. Palate is light, creamy and average. Tis alright.

Not a bad beer when drinking it in a warm climate. Served cold is best for this one. Grainy corn nose on this one.

A very basic beer that is easy to drink. Very much like any larger you may have had not much more to say. A week of this and I just want hops please.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the new Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks troubles. Clear yellow. Aroma of DMS, a bit of hay, a bit of malt and faint hoppy hints. Sweetish and grainy flavor with a slightly drier finish. Light-bodied and watery. Pretty clean.
