Costa Ricans have been enjoying this beer since 1924. Imperial is created from a balanced formula combining malts, grains and hops, without a pronounced overtone in its taste. It is what is known as a “centralized” beer. Adapted to a warm and spring-like climate, Imperial is Florida’s most popular and widely accepted beer, both nationally and internationally, and has thus become the favorite beer of Costa Rica.

Bottle enjoyed in Costa Rica. Average light bubbly white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Clear light pale yellow color. Aroma of light grass, hint of malt, light dry and light feel of metallic notes. Light bodied with an average carbonation. Light sweet and bitter flavor. Light dry and bitter finish.

Bottle 12 fl.oz from Drinks of the World - Bern (CH). Straw blonde with a short head and fine crackling. Aromas of cereals, honey, slight hop. The taste is fresh, on cereals, with a hint of hop, but rather short. Beer of thirst, standard and industrial, low bitterness. Bland and commonplace.

Pours a very pale golden color, topped with a small and quickly disappearing white head. There is a mild malty aroma, not much else. The taste is light, watery and sweet. No real bitterness in the finish. OK, when it’s ice cold. Otherwise, meh.

At the hotel, a clear horrid pour. Nose is grainy. Taste is flat, dull without any flavor, watery, in the same category as all big macro lagers. :( quaff score 3 / 10

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured clear, yellow, small white head and spotty lacing on the glass. Faint aroma of grain and some hops (very faint). Taste of. Grain and yeast, some bitterness but a bit watery. Refreshing pale lager, nothing more than that.

Pale light yellow with quickly dissipating head. Aroma gives a nod more towards the hops in comparison to many lagers. Light grass and straw. Grain. Flavor is pretty sweet. No bitterness. Fair dryness. Ok.

Pours a clear pale yellow with white head. Cereal grains on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes pretty clean. Very one dimensional.
