Bottle and Can: This was my first beer in Honduras and after the trip we had it was welcome! My first thought was ...this tastes like Balantine with a bit more of a malt body. This was one refteshing beer. Again, I must go back to the lattitude/attitude aspect of this fine example of a tropical lager that is MEANT TO BE CONSUMED AT THE PROPER LATTITUDE! No hops whatsoever. Bert....one comin your way.

another run of the mill pilsner. Bad in general but not too bad when your’re under the Honduran sun. Taste like coors or miller. They all taste the same to me.

I dont usually rate pale lagers, I think this is my second one, but I thought this was drinkable. Poured a clear light gold with a medium white head. Smelled of some cinnamon, light malts, and grain. The taste wasnt too bad actually, a good dose of that cinnamon really showed up making it pretty sweet. It lacked body and complexity, but it was pretty drinkable. If I was laying on a Honduran beach an somebody brought this to me, I might not kill them.

Rated 7/7/07. Bottle. Clear, light golden body. White head with minimal lacing. Aroma was corny malts, grass, and wet grains. Flavor was the same. Somewhat skunky, but not as bad as alot of pale lagers out there. Decent refreshing beer for a hot day but that’s about it.

Sweet aroma, a little honey, with a slight gassy aroma. Pours very light blonde, almost clear. Grain and cereal, a little honey and sweet malt, yeasty, a weird grass like flavor (not a hoppy flavor though, but grassy). Finishes with a crisp bite. Nothing special.

Available in cans or bottles, bottle was slightly better. Pours a light golden with a thin head like a standard Pale Lager. Aroma was slightly sweet with a slightly sweeter taste. In general it is not surprising why this is a popular beer in Honduras.

Bottle... AWOL ’07... Hazy, straw-colored lager with a mid-sized, fizzy, white head. Good, tight retention. The nose is all about honey and lime (I think it’s past the point of "skunked" and has converted to lime), which I find more offensive than skunk. There’s a hint of pilsner malt in there too. Yeasty, lightly sweet flavor with honey and some citrusy lemon/lime. Crisp bitterness. Medium-bodied with a lightly oily mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, mostly clean finish.
