The strongly skunked aroma was apparent as soon as I poured it. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised when it's in a green bottle. Still, every once in a while the taste will remain intact, so I bravely chanced a sip. And the truth is, I was pleasantly surprised. Or I guess I should say, I wasn't repulsed like I expected to be. Taste is moderately sweet, malty, faint lemon, with no bitterness. Light body typical for the region. PorterPounder (3137), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Typical light golden appearance, fluffy white head and slightly skunky aroma. However, the flavor had a little bit of a not unpleasant malty twanginess to it that gave it some character and pushed it above the ranks of the other lagers of the region. The painted bottle looked great as well with a classic sailing ship on it. Went down smooth with no aftertaste. All in all, pleasantly surprised. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 0.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | May 16, 2003 Four Honduran beers exist. Three down, one to go. Created in 1983, this swill, er, macrobrew, was heavily skunked by the time I got my hands on it here in NYC. The corny adjuncts and excessive use of water were balanced by the fact that Port Royal is not massively carbonated as one would expect. The painted glass bottle was a nice touch. It's an odd irony that the countries which most often produce beers in clear and green bottles are sun-drenched countries in which such beers are likeliest to get skunked. | 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | May 1, 2003 Yellow-gold with a choppy, irregular head. Skunky nose blended with a sour, lemony bite. Lively carbonation makes it crisp, but there's not much else there. Light, corn-like malts with hardly any sweetness. Virtually nonexistent hop aroma or bitterness. Didn't find it as repulsive as some of these other posts, but it wasn't great either. Consistency probably varies from bottle to bottle also. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada

lots of adjuncts , not much in the way of hops.
only interesting thing about the beer is it origin. Drew (2408), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Jan 29, 2003 How is it that Hondurans can make a better beer than BMC? (well, not a LOT better, but better). Poured a pale gold with big fluffy head - and from top to bottom left an extrordinary curtain of lace! The taste, well.....corn - sweet malts that seem thickened by corn. Hops are not in the mix at all. Again, better than BMC, but that's not saying much, is it!? Bov (5425), Bienne, Switzerland
