1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
12 oz bottle of macro Import crap. Poured a super clear, super pale gold with an actually decent looking bright white large bubbly foamy head. Aroma was all corn syrup sweetness with some dusty cereal grain. The flavor was so weak that itís not even offensive itís simply not there. The body is thin with far too much carbonation. DRAIN POUR but hey one more country rated.

4.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
See my review of Cerveza Imperial for my thoughts on all the Honduran beers. Port Royal is my favorite, I canít find it anywhere outside Honduras. It is a favorite of the islanders, however Barena(aka bahia) is the most hip and itís a goody also like a smoother Corona.
Port royal comes in a green bottle you can find it at any "pulperia" or bar. Itís light yet has a distinct flavor and just has a uniqueness to it that I truely savor. I gave a can to a brewer friend and he said he has never tasted anything quite like it. I bring it back with me everytime I visit Honduras. You can also find it in a special aluminum bottle - or it did for awhile not sure if you can still find them.
A fair Harbor and safe Anchorage!
While your there ask for a shot of
G i f i t i if you can find it - a indigenous drink made by the Guarfinas - make sure you have a traditional orange (not a lemon) handy for the chaser! Itís an herbal liquor thatíll make you feel great, not sure what roots and herbs it is made from the recipe is supposedly sacred. Salud!

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle, nice golden colour, nice bubbles, nice white huge head that lasts and lacing very nice. This is probably the best Honduran beer I drunk: nice grainy and malty aroma and an interesting and little complex taste of grains, malts, light sweet and a light bitter and grassy finish. The overall taste however could be better balanced. Comes very close to the level of Belgian, German and Czech pale lager beers.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hmmm this has to be one of the best pale lagers out there. Its somehow very complex. Pour is typical of lagers, crystal clear, light gold but has a nice thick white head that stays. Aroma is yeasty, wheaty but with hop notes of lemon, citrus, and floral. Flavor is clean bitter. Palate is refreshing, thin and crisp. No off flavors and not watery...very solid stuff.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours pale, pale gold with a huge foamy, frothy head. Aroma is sweetish with a hint of grass. Rather thin with mild carbonation. Flavor is clean. It has a light sweetness with some grassiness for bitter. Surprisingly drinkable. One of the better pale lagers. Cause it lacks pale lager graininess.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
So far, the best Honduran beer I have tried. It was creamy and refrehsing. The foam is interesting and nice colour.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Aroma is faint, just the slightest sweet smell. Flavor is sweet corn and light malts. No hop bitterness. Tastes like a watered down Rolling Rock. Thin. Like most Caribbean lagers, itíd be nice and refreshing on a hot day, but thatís about it.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Can in the San Pedro Sula Airport in Honduras this morning. This was the nastiest of the Honduran pale lagers I tried. The adjuncts did not make it better. Whatís worse is its brewed by a German. What an insult to his home country. Also, did Port Brewing copy the font on their label? It looks very, very similar...
