0.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 ghawener (1243) - San Salvador, - MAY 9, 2008
Can: frothy white foam, sparkling with a thin body. No taste. Bought 250ml can in Colombia.
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 mansquito (1815) - washington, Washington DC, USA - AUG 20, 2009
This beer is a secret plan by Hugo Chavez to make Colombians drink crappy beer; why else would this be the only Venezuelan beer available in Bogota supermarkets? This is in effect similar to the Amstel Light scam that the Dutch pulled on the US, except this beer is worse. Crappy yellow beer with a crappy yellow taste. Nothing more to say. Fortunately it only comes in 250ml cans.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 10, 2009
A light blonde alager with a thick creamy white head. A strong aroma of corn husks, musty and lightly sweet. In mouth, a light watery lager with grainy, epsom salts. Mineral water with corn juice. 250 ml bought at Exito, Bogota, for 1600 COP. Shared with Probstk, April 2 2009.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 probstblueribbon (1967) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 7, 2009
250 cm3 can shared by Lubiere (merci!), served cold in a tulip glass. AP02/09.
App.: Medium golden, clear, small, loose, white head.
Aroma: Lots of corn and grain, lightly musty, a touch of bread crust.
Palate: Medium body and carbonation.
Flav.: Mineral water + corn cereal; dry with a hint of bitterness and a little mineral to finish.
Light and boring, but I’m glad to have a Venezuelan beer to rate!
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 garza (480) - Oslo (NO), Caracas (VE), VENEZUELA - OCT 9, 2007
This is a typical marketing fashion beer with a lot of foam. If is not very cold, do not even get near of it.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 almosi (281) - Viña del Mar, CHILE - JUN 18, 2007
Can – 250 ml. - Pale, very pale golden color. Weak aroma, but with something of hoppy. In paladar the masses and the leavening are detected (perhaps some adhered grains). Is not as bad as one thinks that will be a beer light.
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 AmazonMatt (285) - PANAMA - MAY 17, 2007
What can I say, a slightly below Latin American pale lager. Think Soberana (Panama). Not much here.
2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 dwyerpg (3576) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUN 5, 2006
Pale yellow water with a rather fresh aroma. Nothing in the head either way and little in the beer but I think maybe this is my first Venezuelan beer. Had in Bogota.
5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 gugga (27) - Gainesville, Florida, USA - AUG 13, 2005
again... it’s the caribbean! a thick beer is not desirable to drink on the beach!
1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 SG (464) - Valley Center, California, USA - APR 3, 2005
There is one thing this beer has going for it. It’s very drinkable. Against three other beers I had from Venezuela this was the least flawed, but how could it be, it’s like drinking bubbly water. That being said, a very typical macro pale lager.
