Bottle. Slightly sweet barley malt aroma. Golden yellow color with large white head. Slightly sweet barley malt and light hint of herbal hops. No bad flavors - a decent enough beer, just not much there.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Nekronos (2655) - Xalapa, MEXICO - APR 22, 2011
Surprise, surprise. Not another awful mexican lager. I would had bet it was going to be disgusting. BUt it has very nice features: color, yeast, hops’ aroma. Very nice aftertaste and awesome shape.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Braudog (4606) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - MAR 20, 2011
Bottle. Pale straw colored, as you’d expect. Initially poofy topped, this is somewhat musty with a lemon twist. Creamy mouthfeel. (#4093, 3/19/2011)
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 IndianaRed (1734) - Boise, Idaho, USA - FEB 9, 2011
Bottle from Brewforia Beer Market, Meridian, ID The anticipation is killing me, it’s been a long time since I rated a Mexican Lager. Hazy dark yellow pour with a fleeting white head, that quickly settles into a patchy skin covering about 2/3 of the surface. Sweet apple and corn aroma. More sweet weak vegetal flavors and barely enough fizz to call itself carbonated. I suppose this would wash down a few spicy enchiladas at a dive Tex-Mex resturaunt, but that is all.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 monkeychugg55 (704) - Joliet, Illinois, USA - JAN 31, 2011
Clear yellow-gold body with a few bubbles and a 3/4" white head that settles to a film rather quickly. Little lacing. The aroma is sweet and grainy, with a small amount of grassiness. The flavor is sweet also, with a bit of hops on the finish and a weird but inoffensive taste I can’t really describe. Bigger mouthfeel than you would expect, with prickly carbonation. Not bad, would be refreshing on a hot day.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 EithCubes (3340) - GERMANY - JAN 25, 2011
Bottle. Stale metal-and-corn nose, does have some grass and malt. Sickly pale golden body with a brilliant white head. Taste has the above mentioned flaws but has a bouyant, rounded malt profile and doesn’t go too far in either the sweetness or bitterness extreme. Aftertaste is more than a little nasty, though. Light but somewhat refreshing malty body, not thin.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Headbanger (2130) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - OCT 30, 2010
12oz can 10/30/10 (Binny’s Naperville singles rack)-48° in Flute-Pours a clear light golden with a small white ring for a head. Aroma of grains and grassy hops. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew is another typical pilsner. Not bad but not good.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Onslow (710) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - JUL 14, 2010
Six pack from Tiffany’s. Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Typlical lager appearance with two fingers of white head. Decent head retention. LIght aroma dominated by grassy hops. Taste is has light graininess at the start followed by a moderate grassy hops finish. Finish is dry with a bit of a bit of lingering hoppiness. Nothing bad here and the slight bitter to the finish saves it form being yet another bland and flavorless brew.
