Just awesome. It was mor elike a schwartz bier mixed with a keller one. These guys made an excellent job with this. Shape, aroma, aftertaste, head, everything.

Bottle from Liquor Barn Springhurst. Pours dark brown with a thin off-white head. Notes of toasted malt, bready, lightly sweet caramel, light roast undertones. Medium bodied, lightly sweet with soft carbonation. Much better than I was expecting, Iíd like to try it again.

Clear, dark, reddish/amber. Little to no head and little to no lacing. What head that was present was only the slightest off white. Several bubbles coming up from the bottom. Faint roasted malt with an almost freshly stripped tobacco smell. As the beer warmed, some roasted or toasted grain came through. Roasted and toasted breadiness in the taste. Sort of a roasted malt, but not sweet. Medium to light mouthfeel. Somewhat watery and didnít leave a lot on the palate. It is smooth and did go down easy. Even and crisp. This beer was just Ok in my opinion. Nothing horrible, but nothing outstanding either. Itís decently drinkable. Better than a macro for sure. I could drink a few.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours ruby/copper with a lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma of caramel malts, a little bit of toffee/nuts, and some light hops. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A decent beer.

Bottle. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Light to medium sweet flavor with light to medium sweet finish of short to moderate duration. Above average beer worth trying agian.

Bottle: Dark pellucid brown color with a nice white head. The nose is toasty with nuts and dark malts, crisp and roasty with a light chewy almond quality. Clean and fresh with a light roasty underlayer and a mild body with a refreshing finish. Nice dark lager (vienna?) with a sweet toasty finish.

Bottle from Supermarket Liquors in Fort Collins, CO. Pours dark amber with a foamy 3 finger beige head. Smells like roast malt, but kind of like schwarzbier - but sweetish. Medium minus body with foamy carbonation. Itís sweet malt, lightly roasted, and not much like a schwarzbier. Maybe a bit like bock. ???? I give up. Ok drink, but not one Iíd repeat deliberately.

Nice malty aroma and pleasant appearance, but it falls flat after that. taste is watery and bland, very abrupt finish, slightly metallic. Just malt taste, thatís it, was hoping for better.

Bottle. Poured with an airy pile of white foam on top, reddish/brown underneath. The aroma is full-on sugary maltiness. This drinks with the same big sweet toffee character, as if this was 100% malt. (#4056, 1/2/2011)

Six pack from Tiffanies. Medium dark amber pour with a thin head. Aroma has hints of tasted malt and a slight vegetal funk that combine to create a sour, teaberry-ish aroma that reminds me of the old old Frankenmuth beer from the 70ís. Flavor is a mixture of roasted malts, sweet corn, and teaberry. Grassy hops that create a dry finish with a bit of misplaced bitterness. This really does remind me of the old Frankenmuth brew - something I havenít thought about for decades. Thanks for the memories.
