This being my first Honduran brew, it compares well with other brews in its class; light, crisp, refreshing. It has a sharp bitter bite up front with a smooth caramel-like mellowed finished. It’s just a good typical pale lager. Darn good companion with my chili-cheese-frito-pie dinner! This brew truly met up with its purpose - quench thirst quickly and cheaply!

bottle. Poured clear pale yellow with a rocky white head. Light sweet grainy aroma. Medium bready mouthfeel, average carbonation. Light grainy flavour with some malty undertones. A little better than I was expecting.

Bottle @ BeerBiker/Scheffel’s 100 countries celebration week (long time ago). In the heat, it could be a nice easy drinkable beer. Could add more hops and it would be an okay beachsnifter!

Stop number two while on the Carnival Valor was Roatan in Honduras where I was able to sample Salva Vida. I asked the waiter if they had any darker beers and he recommended this one. I’m not sure he understood me :) I had this twice while there once in a can and once in a bottle. I found the canned brew metallic, and slightly more carbonated. Poured into a clear plastic cup at Fat Tuesday’s produced a liquid of pale gold color and a minimal head that went poof in the heat. Smells of corn and light husky grain minimal hops with a slight earthy aroma as well. Taste is what I expected. Light sweet malt, corn, slight dms. Smooth creamy/watery mouthfeel, medium body, crisp carbonation. Not a bad quick thirst quencher on a hot day.

Pours a weak yellow with an aroma of corn puffs and sweet malt. Flavor is weak corn meal and floral malt. Watery yet lively mouthfeel. Typical Latin American swill.

Smells maltier and better than the Port Royal Export. flavor is much stronger, but maybe a light butter hint near the end.

Poured a golden color with a white head that fades quickly to a ring. Has a sweet grainy malt and corn nose. Follows the nose sweet grainy malt with corn flavors. This beer has a medium body with medium carbonation to it. Overall this wasn’t very good in general or for the specific style. If you need beer to drink I’d opt for Barena from Honduras.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden with a small frothy white head. The aroma is corn malt and metal. Medium mouthfeel with a tangy malt and metallica finish. Not much going on with this pale lager.
