1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle. Dry, citric nose has hop profile right from a Kellerbier, but with a touch of adjunct. Pale yellow-golden with a sudsy beige head. Taste is grainy with bare-bones citrus and even a hint of hop grit, dry enough and without enough dirty and metal to make me worry about a headache. Medium, slightly slimy body. A little heavy, but a decent effort.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: AUG 7, 2011 Salva Vida has a medium, white head and a semi-cloudy golden color. Carbonation is moderate, and the smell is of rancid something, and it has a bubble gum, yukky smell. The taste is of some sort of grain, and there is almost no hop presence to balance it out. Mouth-feel is moderate, and Salva Vida finishes semi-dry. I did not like this and would not care to have it again.
REVISIT- I had this again on 8/7/11, and it was fresh, roasty, easy-drinking, and pleasant. Apparently, the original sample was somehow spoiled. RJT

1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Ahhh, not so good. Got it at a quick mart type place and grabbed the second one back, but it’s still light struck. Get the feel it wouldn’t make all that much difference though. Poured with a small fine white head. Color is a clear amber gold. Aroma is up front skunk followed by with some common world beer, corn, pale malt, cereal. Flavor is like aroma. Body is thin and carbonation is sharp. Finish is like flavor. Wonder what beers like this tasted 50 years ago. Can’t finish this one.

Acquired in Roatan, Honduras while in port. Golden amber pour with fizzy white head and zero lacing. Flavor is far from pilsner...sweet malt and little hop presence. Metallic taste as if sucking on a nickel (not that I do that, often). Thin and highly carbonated.
