25 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a lacing tan head. Dense toffee and caramel malty aroma. Sweet fruity and caramel dense flavour. Light spiced and mild yeasty. Vague metallic note. Lingering fruity finish. Nice one.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel as well as lighter notes of fruit and butter. The flavor is sweet matly with primary notes of caramel, but also light notes of fruit and butter, leading to a dry bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) Rumour has it, that this beer is identic to "Saison de Silly" from the same brewery. Dark amber color with a hint of iron. But also plenty of (a bit too much) sweetness. According to the label, this beer has been maturing for several months in the cellar at the castle of Anthisnes. Doesn’t really fit with the fact that this is a label-beer. 310802

Bottled. Rubyish ambery colour with small beige creamy head. Aroma is really big time malts and grass along with some mild caramel and fruits. Flavour is big time sweet malts along with some fruity bitterness. Also some slighthints of gingerbread.

Bottled 10-1999, 3 ys old. 7.5% ABV.
Beautiful hazy amber color, creamy head. Malt nose, sugar, caramel, wallnuts. Pretty sweet, but the age gives some improved character; a lot of malt, caramel, some wood. The best feature is the harmony of the different tastes, accomplished with the aging.
A very good Abbey ale.

(Bottle, best before 22/09/06) Pours a cloudy amber body with a small creamy beige head. Aroma of toasted malt, nuts, old musty books, and a hint of fruit. Flavor of toasted malt, nuts, and bit of caramel. This one may be a bit past its time even though it was drank a couple moths before the “best before” date.

Dark copper color, small brown head. Nose has burned caramel, hops and hints of yeast. Light to medium bodied. Barley, toffee, notes of roasted malts. Dry finish. Sweet tones. Suprisingly a bit similar to Jenlain Ambrée.

Pours deep clear chestnut with a small, creamy, white head. Fine duration. Aroma has caramel, red berries, mild oxidation, plums and soft viniousness. Medium carbonation, fine dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is fruity, berries, blackcurrants, chocolate, sharpish dryness with some metallic notes. Light nutty as well.
