COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2005 (Bottled, BBE 10/2006) Slightly hazy, dark amber/copper color with a smallish head. Fruity, perfumy, sweet aroma with toffee, raisins and ketchup hints. Sweetish, slightly cardboardy, herby and very fruity toffee flavor with a spicy, dryish finish. Medium-bodied, slightly thin, sugary but not very sweet palate with slightly lemonadey carbonation. Interesting, but not extremely pleasant, as it has some strange cardboardy sidetaste (or some spice maybe?). Not among the best brews from this great brewery, but still very drinkable.

Brown 25cl bottle, best before 11th Jan 2008, drank July 2007. Poured into a Brugse, Straffe Hendrik chalise glass. Good redish brown, light mahogany colour, a little dull really, the head dissappeared almost straight away. Not a lot of aroma in my bottle, a bit of sweet biscuits but not much else. The taste isn’t any great shakes, a watery, fizzy, malty, sweet and sour fruit mix, which doesn’t float my boat at all. The mouthfeel is very poor, watery and flavourless. This is another beer from Silly I have been unimpressed with.

Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk.
Pours deep clear chestnut with a small, creamy, white head. Fine duration. Aroma has caramel, red berries, mild oxidation, plums and soft viniousness. Medium carbonation, fine dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is fruity, berries, blackcurrants, chocolate, sharpish dryness with some metallic notes. Light nutty as well.

25cl bottle @ Delhaize next to the brewery, 0€67 a bottle.

Bottle. Sweet banana and peach malt aroma. Medium amber color with small head. Very sweet (but not cloying) peach, apple malt flavor with a lightly bitter finish. Nice body. Excellent fruit and malt mixture.

Darker amber coloured beer with little carbonation and a very short off-white head. Light malty hinted aroma with a short roasted touch. Medium palate. FInish is light wattery bitter with a malty touched dry ending. Rather medium for a Belgian ale.
