MrManning (1403), London, Ontario, Canada May 6, 2008 On tap at C’est What? Dark dark brown, almost black (hard to tell 100% in the dark bar) with a one finger of mocha froth. The nose is awash with roasted barley and cocoa with milk chocolate, toffee, and freshly ground coffee. Mmmmm! The flavour profile is choc full of milk chocolate and roasted coffee beans with cocoa powder and toffee again. It’s semi sweet like a nice dark chocolate with a load of bitterness towards the finish. Creamy and very drinkable. Way better than I expected.
garthicus (515), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 24, 2008 Appearance: Dark black, baileys coloured head. Aroma: Dark chocolate, cherry-rasberry-porter aroma. Flavour: Milk chocolate, some dark fruit, creamy finish. Very nice JoeMcPhee (3612), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Apr 8, 2008 Tap at C’est What. Pitch black with a creamy brown nitro head. Aroma is loaded with rich chocolatey notes. Very cocoaish and lightly milky as well. Very creamy texture... hazelnut only shows up on the end and it definitely plays second fiddle to the chocolate. Flavours are loaded with sweet milk chocolate, a kiss of roastiness on the back as well. Sweet and lightly caramelly in the middle. As it begins to warm, the nuttiness picks up and comes into balance with the chocolate. Nice brew. tomthompson89 (1037), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 27, 2008 on tap at C’est what, kind of a dark brown ruby color, with decent head nose is hazelnut, and chocolate as others have said like nutella. I can honestly say that this was the best hazelnut beer i have ever had!! Choc, hazelnut and to me at least a touch of coffee. Creamy mouthfeel Very Well done Sammy (2944), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 10, 2008 Coffee-ish with the hazlenut adding albeit artificial aroma, and the chocolate some thickness to the coffee. It’s a stout with these additional added elements, and not a bad one.
