From notes. On tap at C’est What. Pours a nice brown colour with a medium foamy head and some lacing. Aroma of hazelnut and sweet chocolate syrup. Flavours follow the aroma quite nicely. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPad

On tap@C’est What Fall Fest. Decent chocolate nose, some malt, deep brown, ruby at the sides. Lighter taste of chocolate and malt than the aroma. Thin bodied, bitter. Average.

On nitro tap at C’est What?. Pours a deep dark black with a thin beiged white head. Smells a bit like nutella, faint cocoa and roast. Tons of chocolate, tastes a bit like chocolate milk. Finishes dry with some lingering roast and a bit more chocolate. Yet another beer that doesn’t benefit by being on nitro.

Draft @ C’est What? (Toronto): Poured a blackish brown with a nice head. The aroma was heavy chocolate and hazelnut. I thought this beer was going to be thicker, but it was thin, crisp and refreshing. hazelnuts and chocolate were up front and great. Overall, a tasty brew.

Tap at C’est What: Light brown ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of hazelnut and chocolate syrup with a very sweet finish. Taste is also dominated by the sweet hazelnut and chocolate syrup. Body is a bit thin for the style with good carbonation and a nice creamy texture. I thought this was too sweet to drink a whole pint and a bit too fake with the syrup really dominating.

A ddep dark ale with a thin dark moka head. A nice sweet chocolate aroma, butterscotch, maple, and nutella. In mouth, an interesting mix of nuts, caramel and chocolate ice cream. Medium bodied. On tap at C’est What, March 21, 2009.

On tap at Cest What, deep pitch black color, with a creamy tan-colored head, nice chocolate ice cream nose, with a nutty hazelnut, powdery cocoa, mochaish, esprosso coffee aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a mellow sweet dark chocolatey character, with a hazelnut, kind of nutella flavor, with a hint of black coffee bean roastiness, leading towards a light roasty, chocolate malt bitterness finish.

Sample at C’est What - poured near black with a cinnamon coloured head. Aroma big on hazelnut and milk chocolate, but some underlying malts present and a touch of hoppiness to keep this from being saccharine. Flavour basically like drinking Nutella, something I dug, for sure. A bit of roasted coffee in there as well. Really a wonderful beer, one I’ll be getting more often when at C’est What.

Practically opaque dark brown-black with brown head. Cocoa butter but not much hazelnut character. Soft and creamy, low carbonation. Bland, thin, with mild cocoa and mineral flavors.
