2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 MillStreetMan (152) - Toronto, - MAR 5, 2005
This is an interesting beer, and whether I really like it or not is somewhat unclear. It certainly smelled and tasted like rye, which is what you take it to be, I suppose. I thought it was not dissimilar to toasted grass or something. Not bad though, but not necessarily really winning, either.

Amber brown in colour, thin off-white coloured head, very light lacing. The aroma is very lightly sweet, not getting very much rye but some sourdough, some stale bread. The flavour has some rye coming through, a light caramel sweetness, lightl roast. Medium sweetness in the mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long with some rye and a mild bitterness. Not bad but not the amount of rye that I was hoping for.

Served a whisky/amber under an off-white, creamy and sheet-lacing head. I didn’t find rye in the aroma but berry notes along with some grapes and cheap red wine. Thick & fluffy with the consistency of thinned honey. Flavor finds mild earthiness, berry notes and (I suppose) some light rye bitterness in the finish. Very low citrics. O.K.

Nice and easy to drink, although I didn’t really notice the rye.
Still, a nice mild hoppiness with a bit of spice. Different and easy to drink.

(draught at the brewpub) dark amber. Rapidly fading head with nice lace. Faint malt aroma. Flavor is sweetish malt, some rye, and black pepper. Interesting.

Draught. Pours a deeper reddish brown color with a thinner off white head. Medium aroma of some rye, spice, and sweeter malt. Similar flavor carried across nicely by the medium to full body. Very drinkable, pretty nice.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 CapFlu (3798) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 10, 2006
(Draught) Pint at the bar. Huh? Most people liked this beer the least? It was my favourite of the evening. Pours a thin, quick dissipating, white head with a reddish brown body. Mildly carbonated. Very good. Nice malt flavour with a decent rye balance. Nose was sweet with a rasted malt yet it had a bitter fruity and floralness to it. Nice complexity and the most complex of the evening.
