Commercial Description:
The history of Cesu beer can be traced back to the thirteenth century when a beer brewery was founded right in Cesu castle. The chronicles of the year 1590 present evidence for the popularity of the particular beer brewery at the time. Due to the new factory in Cesis the new beer corresponds to nowadays demands while preserving the flavour of natural beer.

Canned. Pale, bright golden with a one-finger stable white head. Weak aroma; light malty and unfresh cardboardy hop aroma. Sugary grain flavor. Stale bitterness. Body is light. Finish is sour. Beer is crap.

Fairly generic yellow pour with grain, grain and water. Nice bitter finish but doesn’t stand out.

Good, very nice, but another Latvian lager, nothing special, would need to drink more to get used to it.

Sampled at Gothenburg Beer Festival 2008. Pale golden with medium white head. Earthy and honeyish malt aroma with notes of potatoe. Spritzy mouthfeel. Sweet with low bitterness.

50 cl can with "limited edition" packaging. Thin, watery, sweetish, some bitterness in the finish, but it is not very pleasant. There are many Lativian beers that are more premium than this!
