Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Very dark brown with a cream thin foam. Aromas are weetabix and chocolate with lactose and nutty notes. Soft roast coffee with pear and yeast. Flavours are sweet chocolate and raisins with roast coffee and spices. Herbal liquorice with earthy, smoky notes and prickly lemon. Dry and peppery on the finish. Quite oily on the palate. Very decent.

Cask at GBBF 2011, Day 2. Pours ruby-brown with a tight, foam head. Dark fruits and subtle dark malts in the aroma. Medium sweet flavor, some doughy malts and toast, dark fruits, hints of brown sugar. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Sweet, dark sugar finish, with restrained dark fruits, light roast and cocoa. Great stuff. Really right on target.

Clear dark brown color with a small to small average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dark malt, sour malt, smoke - chimney notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100804]
