argo0 (6231), Washington DC, USA Oct 2, 2005 Crystal clear apple juice body with white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, pineapple, some caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, pineapple, grapefruit. Medium body, quite clean for the style. A nice 1D beer. Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 10, 2005 Clear golden orange pour with a mostly lasting off-white head. Malts are surprisingly not so flavourful at all for a beer of this gravity, but the hops are definitely floral, sprucey, sweaty and perfumey/piney. Mango and peaches manage to sneak into the blend, but are quickly taken aback by a dry slap, reminiscent of a white wine in its woodiness. Light-medium bodied, liquorous texture, citric nature. No champion, but defendable. CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Sep 11, 2005 Shared by goldtwins: Lightly hazy dark golden bronze color pour has a dense, nicely-lacing white head. Aroma is bursting with fresh, green, piney and grapefruity hops with crystal malt supporting it. Body has some good piney, grapefruity flavor and lots of nice, sweet, lightly earthy malt. Well-balanced, crisp and enjoyable, a very nice double IPA. hopscotch (4591), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Oct 10, 2006 Draft... GABF ’06... Mostly clear yellow ale with a small, frothy, white head. Earthy, woodsy aroma with a note of pine. The flavor is well-balanced and earthy, but leans a hair on the bitter side with mild toffee and moderate pink grapefruit tannins. Pinch of salt. Medium to full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Lengthy, bitter, dry finish. BBB63 (3810), La Porte, Indiana, USA Oct 9, 2005 GABF 2005: Golden hue with a small head and some lace. The aroma has notes of piney and grapefruit hop notes, pale malts, and dusty yeast esters. The taste has a nice biting bitterness with citric and bready background but there is a hint of diacetyl which detracts. The feel is biting and mostly refreshing with just a bit of chalky character. Quite quaffable but not as good as I had heard.
