COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like a jackrabbit on the run, hops are literally leaping out of this deep golden brew. The aroma of Columbus, Horizon, Crystal, and Centennial hop varieties strikes you first with notes of evergreen and grapefruit before evolving into a snappy and sharp hop flavor. The finish is very dry and calls you back for more. Yes, there is some malt here too, but mainly in a supportive role. This is one for the hopheads. Cheers!

Pours a transparent bright golden bronze with a clingy-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet crystal malts and some grapefruity hoppy character. Body starts lightly sweet with a decent crisp bittering hoppy balance and some citrusy notes before a crisp drier bittersweet finish. An ok IPA, but could use more of a fresher assertive hop presence.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours cloudy caramel with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a nice citrus note backed by sweet grains and caramel. Flavor has a similar citrus note up front with sweet grains and a bit of caramel in the finish.

Hand bottle courtesy of zuchinicat. Pours gold with a foamy white head. Smells of perfume and lots of fresh piny hops. Tastes slightly bitter with a powerful hop punch. This is a hop lovers IPA.

Draft pint at the brewpub, 9/19/06: Bronze with a solid foam top. Rigid hop bitterness greets the palate. Tart and puckering with an extremely dry finish.

Draught @ Chama River. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a medium white head. The aroma had a mild malt presence, but was more about the hops. Grapefruit, citrus, and a touch of pine abound. The flavor was a balanced version of the nose. Moderately sweet caramel/crystal malt mixes nicely with the citrus, grapefruit, and grassy hops. Finish is nicely bitter. One of the many solid offerings we enjoyed here at Chama River.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at the brewpub in August 2009. Pours a copper golden color with a nice white head and a pretty good amount of lacing. the nose is some light pine and grassy hops. A bit of floral character. The taste is mildly malty with a bit of caramel and then some good hopping in the background. Pretty good bitterness and some nice drinkability. Draft at the brewpub, except it was called "Jackelope". Nice grapefruit, resin, and caramel aroma. Flavor is the same great mix. Light-medium body is very sessionable, lightly astringent and smoothly carbonated. Great session IPA.

Draught: This poured a light amber with a white head. The aroma opened my sences to the hops. The flavor was on point as far as an IPA, it slapped my tongue around with hops and begged me to drink more. It had just enough malt to make it a rounded beer. A beer like this makes me want to re-evaluate my taste for IPA.
