Commercial Description:
If the river were made of beer, it would run amber. First brewed as the house beer for our Santa Fe based steakhouse, Rio Chama Amber Ale has become a cult favorite. This easy to drink, yet flavorful ale is brewed with a blend of pale, toasted and caramel malts. Its spicy dry hop character complements the malt with a nice balanced finish.

Draught at the southern location of the Blue Corn Brewery. Beer is clear, medium-hued warm brown. Head is small, off-white, frothy; mostly lasting.
The aroma is malty with light notes of cookie and toasted grain; Hoppy with light notes of apricot, resin/pine; Trace miscellaneous note of vanilla.
The flavor is moderately/heavily bitter, lightly sweet with a long, heavily bitter, trace acidic, grippy finish.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is still.

On tap at the brewpub - pours a deep amber color with a foamy head. Medium-bodied with a pronounced hop bitterness throughout. Hoppy flavor dominates the underlying caramel malt.

Malty, frothy, sweet and fresh tasting. Some good maple, cedar and other woody flavors, fresh and slightly sweet, chewing caramel but without any cheap twang that is common in brewpub amber ales. Good stuff.

Draught. Pours amber with a medium creamy off-white head. Fruity hop caramel malt and yeast aromas. Yeasty bitter hop and caramel malt flavor. Medium bodied clean and smooth palate.

Draught at Blue Corn Brewery Micro Bar, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Clear light amber beer, ok off-white head. Mild and sweet aroma, malt and caramel tones. Same in the flavor with some chocolate also. Good roasted tone and some fruit in there as well. Sparkling.
